“ These are the names of the tribes: Beginning at the northern extreme, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan( which is on the northern border of Damascus over against Hamath), and extending from the east side to the west, Dan, one portion.

“ Here is the list of the tribes of Israel and the territory each is to receive. The territory of Dan is in the extreme north. Its boundary line follows the Hethlon road to Lebo hamath and then runs on to Hazar enan on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north. Dan’s territory extends all the way across the land of Israel from east to west.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: From the northern end, along the road of Hethlon, to Lebo-hamath as far as Hazar-enon, at the northern border of Damascus, alongside Hamath and extending from the eastern side to the sea, will be Dan— one portion.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: from the northern extremity, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo hamath, as far as Hazar enan at the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath, running from east to west, Dan, one portion.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: From the northern border along the road to Hethlon at the entrance of Hamath, to Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus northward, in the direction of Hamath, there shall be one section for Dan from its east to its west side;

“ These are the names of the tribes: From the northern end beside the road of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan( which is on the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath), extending from the east side to the west, Dan will have one portion.

為但支派，按著家族抽出第七籤。他們產業的境界包括：瑣拉、以實陶、伊珥．示麥、沙拉賓、亞雅崙、伊提拉、以倫、亭拿他、以革倫、伊利提基、基比頓、巴拉、伊胡得、比尼．比拉、迦特．臨門、美．耶昆、拉昆和約帕對面的地區。但人未能控制他們的境界，因此他們就上去攻打利善，奪取那城，用刀擊殺了城中的人；他們佔領利善，就住在城中，以他們祖先但的名字，把利善改名為但。

我聽見被蓋印的人的數目，以色列子孫各支派中被蓋印的共有十四萬四千人：猶大支派中被蓋印的，一萬二千人；流本支派中，一萬二千人；迦得支派中，一萬二千人；亞設支派中，一萬二千人；拿弗他利支派中，一萬二千人；瑪拿西支派中，一萬二千人；西緬支派中，一萬二千人；利未支派中，一萬二千人；以薩迦支派中，一萬二千人；西布倫支派中，一萬二千人；約瑟支派中，一萬二千人；便雅憫支派中，一萬二千人。

難道我不可以照自己的主意用我的財物嗎？還是因為我仁慈你就嫉妒呢？’因此，在後的將要在前，在前的將要在後。”

以色列的眾子，各人帶著家眷和雅各一同來到埃及。他們的名字是：流本、西緬、利未、猶大、以薩迦、西布倫、便雅憫、但、拿弗他利、迦得、亞設。他們全是雅各所生的，共有七十人；那時約瑟已經在埃及了。

“‘你們的北界如下：從大海起畫界，直到何珥山；從何珥山起畫界，直到哈馬口，使邊界直到西達達；這邊界再伸到西斐崙，直到哈薩．以難；這要作你們的北界。

但人繼續走他們的路；米迦見他們比自己強，就轉身回自己的家去了。但人把米迦所做的神像和他的祭司都帶走，他們來到拉億，去到平靜安居的人民那裡，就用刀劍擊殺了他們，又用火燒了那城。沒有人搭救，因為離西頓很遠，他們又與別人沒有來往。這城位於靠近伯．利合的山谷中。但人重建那城，住在其中。按著他們的祖宗，以色列所生的兒子但的名字，給那城起名叫但；其實那城原先的名字叫拉億。

王打定了主意，就做了兩個金牛犢，對眾民說：“以色列人哪，你們上耶路撒冷去實在夠了。看哪，這是你們的神，就是從埃及地領你們上來的那位。”他就把一個牛犢安放在伯特利，一個安放在但。

西面的地界是大海，從南面的地界到哈馬口的對面。這是西面的地界。

王就對約押和跟隨他的軍官說：“你們走遍以色列各支派，從但到別是巴，數點人民，我好知道人民的數目。”

拉結說：“我的婢女辟拉在這裡，你可以與她親近，使她生子歸我，我就可以從她得到孩子﹙“得到孩子”直譯是“被建立”﹚。”於是，拉結把自己的婢女辟拉給了雅各為妾，雅各就與她親近。辟拉懷孕，給雅各生了一個兒子。拉結說：“神為我伸了冤，也垂聽了我的聲音，賜給我一個兒子。”所以給他起名叫但。
