As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.

祂把我帶到那裡。城的入口站著一個面色如銅的人，手中拿著一條麻繩和一根量竿。

那和我說話的天使拿了一根金量桿要丈量聖城、城牆和城門。

現在祂升到上帝的右邊，從天父領受了所應許的聖靈，並將聖靈澆灌下來，你們今天也耳聞目睹了。

跟彼得一起來的那些嚴守割禮的信徒，看見聖靈的恩賜也澆灌到外族人身上，都很驚奇。因為他們聽見這些人又說方言又讚美上帝。於是彼得說：

我就想起主的話，『約翰用水施洗，但你們要受聖靈的洗禮。』既然上帝給他們恩賜，就如我們信主耶穌基督時給我們一樣，我是誰，怎能攔阻上帝？」大家聽了便安靜下來，轉而歸榮耀給上帝，說：「如此看來，上帝把悔改得永生的機會也賜給了外族人。」

我又舉目觀看，見有人拿著準繩。

大家都被聖靈充滿，得到聖靈所賜的才能，說起別的語言來。

有一根杆子賜給我當量尺，同時有聲音吩咐我說：「起來，量一量上帝的殿和祭壇，並數點在殿裡敬拜的人。

我要把我父所應許的賜給你們。不過，你們要留在城裡，直到你們得到天上來的能力。」
