As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep.

祂把我带到那里。城的入口站着一个面色如铜的人，手中拿着一条麻绳和一根量竿。

那和我说话的天使拿了一根金量秆要丈量圣城、城墙和城门。

现在祂升到上帝的右边，从天父领受了所应许的圣灵，并将圣灵浇灌下来，你们今天也耳闻目睹了。

跟彼得一起来的那些严守割礼的信徒，看见圣灵的恩赐也浇灌到外族人身上，都很惊奇。因为他们听见这些人又说方言又赞美上帝。于是彼得说：

我就想起主的话，‘约翰用水施洗，但你们要受圣灵的洗礼。’既然上帝给他们恩赐，就如我们信主耶稣基督时给我们一样，我是谁，怎能拦阻上帝？”大家听了便安静下来，转而归荣耀给上帝，说：“如此看来，上帝把悔改得永生的机会也赐给了外族人。”

我又举目观看，见有人拿着准绳。

大家都被圣灵充满，得到圣灵所赐的才能，说起别的语言来。

有一根杆子赐给我当量尺，同时有声音吩咐我说：“起来，量一量上帝的殿和祭坛，并数点在殿里敬拜的人。

我要把我父所应许的赐给你们。不过，你们要留在城里，直到你们得到天上来的能力。”
