献完了祭，王和所有在场跟随他的人都俯伏敬拜。

祭司要取一些赎罪祭牲的血，抹在殿的门柱上和祭坛台座的四角上，并内院的门框上。

王站在自己的位上，在耶和华面前立约，要尽心尽性跟从耶和华，遵守他的诫命、法度、律例，实行这书上所记这约的话；

“我实实在在地告诉你们，那不从门进羊圈，倒从别处爬进去的，就是贼，就是强盗。那从门进去的才是羊的牧人。看门的给他开门，羊也听他的声音。他按着名叫自己的羊，把羊领出来。

他就稍往前走，俯伏在地，祷告说：“我父啊，如果可能，求你使这杯离开我。然而，不是照我所愿的，而是照你所愿的。”

所罗门当着以色列全会众，站在耶和华的坛前，向天举手，说：“耶和华—以色列的神啊，天上地下没有神明可与你相比！你向那些尽心行在你面前的仆人守约施慈爱，

于是大卫王进去，坐在耶和华面前，说：“耶和华神啊，我是谁，我的家算什么，你竟带领我到这地步呢？

基督在他肉身的日子，曾大声哀哭，流泪祷告，恳求那能救他免死的神，就因他的虔诚蒙了应允。他虽然为儿子，还是因所受的苦难学了顺从。

我们传扬他，是用诸般的智慧，劝戒各人，教导各人，要把各人在基督里完完全全地献上。

王奉献甘心祭，就是向耶和华甘心献的燔祭或平安祭时，当有人为他开朝东的门。他就献上燔祭和平安祭，与安息日所献的一样，然后退出。他出去之后，当有人将门关闭。”
