“‘ You are to give the city as its property an area 5,000 cubits wide and 25,000 cubits long, adjoining the sacred portion; it will belong to all Israel.

“ Give the city an area one and two- thirds miles wide and eight miles long. It will be right next to the sacred area. It will belong to all the people of Israel.

“ Alongside the portion set apart as the holy district you shall assign for the property of the city an area 5,000 cubits broad and 25,000 cubits long. It shall belong to the whole house of Israel.

“ Adjacent to the larger sacred area will be a section of land 8 1/3 miles long and 1 2/3 miles wide. This will be set aside for a city where anyone in Israel can live.

“ As the property of the city, set aside an area 1⅔ miles wide and 8⅓ miles long, adjacent to the holy donation of land. It will be for the whole house of Israel.

“ And you shall give the city possession of an area five thousand cubits wide and twenty five thousand cubits long, alongside the allotment of the holy portion; it shall be for the entire house of Israel.

And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, side by side with the oblation of the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

“ As the property of the city, you must set aside an area 1 2/3 of a mile wide and 8 1/3 miles long, adjacent to the holy donation of land. It will be for the whole house of Israel.

And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad, and five and twenty thousand long, over against the oblation of the holy[ portion]: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

“‘ Alongside the portion set apart as the holy allotment, you will allot for the city an area one and two-thirds miles wide and eight and a quarter miles long; it will be for the whole house of Israel.

“‘“ You shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand wide, and twenty- five thousand long, side by side with the offering of the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel.

“ The five thousand cubits in width that remain, along the edge of the twenty-five thousand, shall be for general use by the city, for dwellings and common-land; and the city shall be in the center.These shall be its measurements: the north side four thousand five hundred cubits, the south side four thousand five hundred, the east side four thousand five hundred, and the west side four thousand five hundred.The common-land of the city shall be: to the north two hundred and fifty cubits, to the south two hundred and fifty, to the east two hundred and fifty, and to the west two hundred and fifty.The rest of the length, alongside the district of the holy section, shall be ten thousand cubits to the east and ten thousand to the west. It shall be adjacent to the district of the holy section, and its produce shall be food for the workers of the city.

“ These are the exits of the city. On the north side, measuring four thousand five hundred cubits( the gates of the city shall be named after the tribes of Israel), the three gates northward: one gate for Reuben, one gate for Judah, and one gate for Levi;on the east side, four thousand five hundred cubits, three gates: one gate for Joseph, one gate for Benjamin, and one gate for Dan;on the south side, measuring four thousand five hundred cubits, three gates: one gate for Simeon, one gate for Issachar, and one gate for Zebulun;on the west side, four thousand five hundred cubits with their three gates: one gate for Gad, one gate for Asher, and one gate for Naphtali.All the way around shall be eighteen thousand cubits; and the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE.”
