An area 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits wide will belong to the Levites, who serve in the temple, as their possession for towns to live in.

So the Levites will serve in the temple. They will have an area eight miles long and three and a third miles wide. The towns they live in will be located there.

Another section, 25,000 cubits long and 10,000 cubits broad, shall be for the Levites who minister at the temple, as their possession for cities to live in.

The strip of sacred land next to it, also 8 1/3 miles long and 3 1/3 miles wide, will be a living area for the Levites who work at the Temple. It will be their possession and a place for their towns.

There will be another area 8⅓ miles long and 3⅓ miles wide for the Levites who minister in the temple; it will be their possession for towns to live in.

An area twenty five thousand cubits in length and ten thousand in width shall be for the Levites, the ministers of the house, and for their possession cities in which to live.

四个殿门守卫长都是利未人，负责看守上帝殿的房间和库房。他们住在殿周围负责看殿，每天早晨开门。有些利未人负责管理敬拜时用的器皿，每次取出或送回，他们都要统计清楚。还有一些人负责管理圣所的其他器具，以及细面粉、酒、油、乳香和香料。有些祭司负责配制香料。利未人玛他提雅是可拉族沙龙的长子，他负责烤祭饼。哥辖宗族中还有些人负责预备每个安息日需用的供饼。利未各宗族的族长负责歌乐，他们住在圣殿的房间里，昼夜专职于这项工作，不用做别的事。

你们难道不知道，在圣殿里事奉的人可以吃圣殿里的食物，在祭坛前事奉的人可以分享祭坛上的祭物吗？同样，主也曾吩咐：传福音的人理当借着福音得到生活的供应。

利未人收取十分之一的时候，要有亚伦子孙中的一位祭司陪同，利未人要从这十分之一中抽出十分之一带到我们上帝的殿中，收进库房里。以色列人和利未人要将这些五谷、新酒和新油作为举祭带到收藏圣所器皿的地方，即供职的祭司、殿门守卫和歌乐手所住的房子。这样，我们便不会忽略我们上帝的殿。
