The prince will be required to provide offerings that are given at the religious festivals, the new moon celebrations, the Sabbath days, and all other similar occasions. He will provide the sin offerings, burnt offerings, grain offerings, liquid offerings, and peace offerings to purify the people of Israel, making them right with the Lord.

Then the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings for the festivals, New Moons, and Sabbaths— for all the appointed times of the house of Israel— will be the prince’s responsibility. He will provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and fellowship offerings to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel.

And it shall be the prince’s part to provide the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the drink offerings, at the feasts, on the new moons, and on the Sabbaths, at all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel; he shall provide the sin offering, the grain offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.”

The burnt offering which the prince will offer to the LORD on the Sabbath day will be six unblemished lambs and one unblemished ram.The grain offering will be an ephah with the ram, and the grain offering with the lambs will be as much as he is able to give, and a gallon of olive oil with an ephah.On the day of the new moon he will offer an unblemished young bull, and six lambs and a ram, all without blemish.He will provide a grain offering: an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as he wishes, and a gallon of olive oil with each ephah of grain.When the prince enters, he will come by way of the porch of the gate and will go out the same way.“‘ When the people of the land come before the LORD at the appointed feasts, whoever enters by way of the north gate to worship will go out by way of the south gate; whoever enters by way of the south gate will go out by way of the north gate. No one will return by way of the gate they entered but will go out straight ahead.When they come in, the prince will come in with them, and when they go out, he will go out.“‘ At the festivals and at the appointed feasts the grain offering will be an ephah with the bull and an ephah with the ram, and with the lambs as much as one is able, and a gallon of olive oil with each ephah of grain.When the prince provides a freewill offering, a burnt offering, or peace offerings as a voluntary offering to the LORD, the gate facing east will be opened for him, and he will provide his burnt offering and his peace offerings just as he did on the Sabbath. Then he will go out, and the gate will be closed after he goes out.

From one month to the next and from one Sabbath to the next, all people will come to worship me,” says the LORD.

The king contributed some of what he owned for burnt sacrifices, including the morning and evening burnt sacrifices and the burnt sacrifices made on Sabbaths, new moon festivals, and at other appointed times prescribed in the law of the LORD.

The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘ These are the LORD’s appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies– my appointed times:“‘ Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the LORD in all the places where you live.“‘ These are the LORD’s appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time.In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, is a Passover offering to the LORD.Then on the fifteenth day of the same month will be the festival of unleavened bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.You must present a gift to the LORD for seven days, and the seventh day is a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.’”The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Speak to the Israelites and tell them,‘ When you enter the land that I am about to give to you and you gather in its harvest, then you must bring the sheaf of the first portion of your harvest to the priest,and he must wave the sheaf before the LORD to be accepted for your benefit– on the day after the Sabbath the priest is to wave it.On the day you wave the sheaf you must also offer a flawless yearling lamb for a burnt offering to the LORD,along with its grain offering, two tenths of an ephah of choice wheat flour mixed with olive oil, as a gift to the LORD, a soothing aroma, and its drink offering, one fourth of a hin of wine.You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until this very day, until you bring the offering of your God. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all the places where you live.“‘ You must count for yourselves seven weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the wave offering sheaf; they must be complete weeks.You must count fifty days– until the day after the seventh Sabbath– and then you must present a new grain offering to the LORD.From the places where you live you must bring two loaves of bread for a wave offering; they must be made from two tenths of an ephah of fine wheat flour, baked with yeast, as first fruits to the LORD.Along with the loaves of bread, you must also present seven flawless yearling lambs, one young bull, and two rams. They are to be a burnt offering to the LORD along with their grain offering and drink offerings, a gift of a soothing aroma to the LORD.You must also offer one male goat for a sin offering and two yearling lambs for a peace offering sacrifice,and the priest is to wave them– the two lambs– along with the bread of the first fruits, as a wave offering before the LORD; they will be holy to the LORD for the priest.“‘ On this very day you must proclaim an assembly; it is to be a holy assembly for you. You must not do any regular work. This is a perpetual statute in all the places where you live throughout your generations.When you gather in the harvest of your land, you must not completely harvest the corner of your field, and you must not gather up the gleanings of your harvest. You must leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God.’”The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Tell the Israelites,‘ In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you must have a complete rest, a memorial announced by loud horn blasts, a holy assembly.You must not do any regular work, but you must present a gift to the LORD.’”The LORD spoke to Moses:“ The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must humble yourselves and present a gift to the LORD.You must not do any work on this particular day, because it is a day of atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the LORD your God.Indeed, any person who does not behave with humility on this particular day will be cut off from his people.As for any person who does any work on this particular day, I will exterminate that person from the midst of his people!You must not do any work. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all the places where you live.It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath.”The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Tell the Israelites,‘ On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Temporary Shelters for seven days to the LORD.On the first day is a holy assembly; you must do no regular work.For seven days you must present a gift to the LORD. On the eighth day there is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must present a gift to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly day; you must not do any regular work.“‘ These are the appointed times of the LORD that you must proclaim as holy assemblies to present a gift to the LORD– burnt offering, grain offering, sacrifice, and drink offerings, each day according to its regulation,besides the Sabbaths of the LORD and all your gifts, votive offerings, and freewill offerings which you must give to the LORD.“‘ On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the produce of the land, you must celebrate a pilgrim festival of the LORD for seven days. On the first day is a complete rest and on the eighth day is complete rest.On the first day you must take for yourselves branches from majestic trees– palm branches, branches of leafy trees, and willows of the brook– and you must rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.You must celebrate it as a pilgrim festival to the LORD for seven days in the year. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you must celebrate it in the seventh month.You must live in temporary shelters for seven days; every native citizen in Israel must live in temporary shelters,so that your future generations may know that I made the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’”So Moses spoke to the Israelites about the appointed times of the LORD.

King Hezekiah of Judah supplied 1,000 bulls and 7,000 sheep for the assembly, while the officials supplied them with 1,000 bulls and 10,000 sheep. Many priests consecrated themselves.

The LORD spoke to Moses:“ Command the Israelites:‘ With regard to my offering, be sure to offer my food for my offering made by fire, as a pleasing aroma to me at its appointed time.’You will say to them,‘ This is the offering made by fire which you must offer to the LORD: two unblemished lambs one year old each day for a continual burnt offering.The first lamb you must offer in the morning, and the second lamb you must offer in the late afternoon,with one-tenth of an ephah of finely ground flour as a grain offering mixed with one quarter of a hin of pressed olive oil.It is a continual burnt offering that was instituted on Mount Sinai as a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.“‘ And its drink offering must be one quarter of a hin for each lamb. You must pour out the strong drink as a drink offering to the LORD in the holy place.And the second lamb you must offer in the late afternoon; just as you offered the grain offering and drink offering in the morning, you must offer it as an offering made by fire, as a pleasing aroma to the LORD.“‘ On the Sabbath day, you must offer two unblemished lambs a year old, and two-tenths of an ephah of finely ground flour as a grain offering, mixed with olive oil, along with its drink offering.This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.“‘ On the first day of each month you must offer as a burnt offering to the LORD two young bulls, one ram, and seven unblemished lambs a year old,with three-tenths of an ephah of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering for each bull, and two-tenths of an ephah of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering for the ram,and one-tenth of an ephah of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering for each lamb, as a burnt offering for a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD.For their drink offerings, include half a hin of wine with each bull, one-third of a hin for the ram, and one-fourth of a hin for each lamb. This is the burnt offering for each month throughout the months of the year.And one male goat must be offered to the LORD as a purification offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.“‘ On the fourteenth day of the first month is the LORD’s Passover.And on the fifteenth day of this month is the festival. For seven days bread made without yeast must be eaten.And on the first day there is to be a holy assembly; you must do no ordinary work on it.“‘ But you must offer to the LORD an offering made by fire, a burnt offering of two young bulls, one ram, and seven lambs one year old; they must all be unblemished.And their grain offering is to be of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil. For each bull you must offer three-tenths of an ephah, and two-tenths for the ram.For each of the seven lambs you are to offer one-tenth of an ephah,as well as one goat for a purification offering, to make atonement for you.You must offer these in addition to the burnt offering in the morning which is for a continual burnt offering.In this manner you must offer daily throughout the seven days the food of the sacrifice made by fire as a sweet aroma to the LORD. It is to be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.On the seventh day you are to have a holy assembly, you must do no regular work.“‘ Also, on the day of the first fruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the LORD during your Feast of Weeks, you are to have a holy assembly. You must do no ordinary work.But you must offer as the burnt offering, as a sweet aroma to the LORD, two young bulls, one ram, seven lambs one year old,with their grain offering of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil: three-tenths of an ephah for each bull, two-tenths for the one ram,with one-tenth for each of the seven lambs,

Solomon offered as peace offerings to the LORD 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep. Then the king and all the Israelites dedicated the LORD’s temple.That day the king consecrated the middle of the courtyard that is in front of the LORD’s temple. He offered there burnt sacrifices, grain offerings, and the fat from the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that stood before the LORD was too small to hold all these offerings.

When the prescribed period is over, on the eighth day and thereafter the priests will offer up on the altar your burnt offerings and your peace offerings; I will accept you, declares the sovereign LORD.”

Then Solomon offered burnt sacrifices to the LORD on the altar of the LORD which he had built in front of the temple’s porch.He observed the daily requirements for sacrifices that Moses had specified for Sabbaths, new moon festivals, and the three annual celebrations– the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Temporary Shelters.

Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.

Now, to show my commitment to the temple of my God, I donate my personal treasure of gold and silver to the temple of my God, in addition to all that I have already supplied for this holy temple.This includes 3,000 talents of gold from Ophir and 7,000 talents of refined silver for overlaying the walls of the buildings,for gold and silver items, and for all the work of the craftsmen. Who else wants to contribute to the LORD today?”The leaders of the families, the leaders of the Israelite tribes, the commanders of units of a thousand and a hundred, and the supervisors of the king’s work contributed willingly.They donated for the service of God’s temple 5,000 talents and ten thousand darics of gold, 10,000 talents of silver, 18,000 talents of bronze, and 100,000 talents of iron.All who possessed precious stones donated them to the treasury of the LORD’s temple, which was under the supervision of Jehiel the Gershonite.The people were delighted with their donations, for they contributed to the LORD with a willing attitude; King David was also very happy.

“ I also hereby issue orders as to what you are to do with those elders of the Jews in order to rebuild this temple of God. From the royal treasury, from the taxes of Trans-Euphrates the complete costs are to be given to these men, so that there may be no interruption of the work.Whatever is needed– whether oxen or rams or lambs or burnt offerings for the God of heaven or wheat or salt or wine or oil, as required by the priests who are in Jerusalem– must be given to them daily without any neglect,

When David finished offering burnt sacrifices and peace offerings, he pronounced a blessing over the people in the LORD’s name.He then handed out to each Israelite man and woman a loaf of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake.

He then handed out to each member of the entire assembly of Israel, both men and women, a portion of bread, a date cake, and a raisin cake. Then all the people went home.

Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch of dough– you are, in fact, without yeast. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.So then, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of vice and evil, but with the bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.

For we have all received from his fullness one gracious gift after another.

You ascend on high, you have taken many captives. You receive tribute from men, including even sinful rebels. Indeed the LORD God lives there!

Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him?For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever! Amen.

The king and all the people were presenting sacrifices to the LORD.King Solomon sacrificed 22,000 cattle and 120,000 sheep. Then the king and all the people dedicated God’s temple.

Then the leaders of Judah and Benjamin, along with the priests and the Levites– all those whose mind God had stirred– got ready to go up in order to build the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem.

Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”Then the Jews who were hostile to Jesus began to argue with one another,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”Jesus said to them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me, and I in him.Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so the one who consumes me will live because of me.

and live in love, just as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Now King Solomon and all the Israelites who had assembled with him went on ahead of the ark and sacrificed more sheep and cattle than could be counted or numbered.

All of the thriving people of the earth will join the celebration and worship; all those who are descending into the grave will bow before him, including those who cannot preserve their lives.

The roof of my mouth is as dry as a piece of pottery; my tongue sticks to my gums. You set me in the dust of death.Yes, wild dogs surround me– a gang of evil men crowd around me; like a lion they pin my hands and feet.I can count all my bones; my enemies are gloating over me in triumph.They are dividing up my clothes among themselves; they are rolling dice for my garments.But you, O LORD, do not remain far away! You are my source of strength! Hurry and help me!Deliver me from the sword! Save my life from the claws of the wild dogs!Rescue me from the mouth of the lion, and from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered me!I will declare your name to my countrymen! In the middle of the assembly I will praise you!You loyal followers of the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob, honor him! All you descendants of Israel, stand in awe of him!For he did not despise or detest the suffering of the oppressed; he did not ignore him; when he cried out to him, he responded.You are the reason I offer praise in the great assembly; I will fulfill my promises before the LORD’s loyal followers.Let the oppressed eat and be filled! Let those who seek his help praise the LORD! May you live forever!

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we may cease from sinning and live for righteousness. By his wounds you were healed.

We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from.

From his own royal flocks and herds, Josiah supplied the people with 30,000 lambs and goats for the Passover sacrifice, as well as 3,000 cattle.His officials also willingly contributed to the people, priests, and Levites. Hilkiah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, the leaders of God’s temple, supplied 2,600 Passover sacrifices and 300 cattle.
