献祭者要把手放在牛头上，所献的燔祭便蒙悦纳，为他赎罪。

如果祭牲的血被带进会幕，在圣所内进行赎罪，就不可吃祭肉，必须全部烧掉。

“已经为你的同胞和圣城定了七十个七，以终结叛逆，除掉罪恶，赎尽过犯，带来永远的公义，封住异象和预言，膏抹至圣所。

你们从前与上帝隔绝，行事邪恶，心思意念与祂为敌；

你要用自己的财富和一切初熟的物产来尊崇耶和华，祂必使你五谷满仓，榨酒池溢出新酿。

根据律法，几乎所有的器具都要用血来洁净，因为若不流血，罪就得不到赦免。既然仿照天上的样式所造的器具需要用祭牲的血来洁净，天上的原物当然要用更美的祭物来洁净。

许愿时说要献上羊群中的公羊，后来却拿伤残的来献给主，这种人该受咒诅！因为我是大君王，就是外族人也敬畏我的名。这是万军之耶和华说的。”

你们拿瞎眼、瘸腿和有病的牲畜来献祭，难道这不是罪过吗？你试试把这样的东西送给你的省长，看他会不会悦纳你、恩待你。这是万军之耶和华说的。”

也就是说，上帝在基督里使世人与自己和好，不再追究他们的过犯。祂已托付我们去传扬这和好之道。所以我们现在是基督的大使，可以说上帝正借着我们发出呼求。我们替基督恳求你们：要与上帝和好！上帝使无罪的基督担当我们的罪，使我们可以借着基督成为被上帝接纳的义人。

所以祂必须在每一方面都与祂的弟兄姊妹相同，以便在事奉上帝的事上成为一位仁慈忠信的大祭司，替众人献上赎罪祭。

并借着十字架消灭彼此间的敌意，使双方借着一个身体与上帝和好。

如果我们还与上帝为敌的时候，尚且可以借着上帝儿子的死亡与上帝和好，和好后的我们岂不更要借着祂儿子的生命得到拯救吗？
