In addition to all your other detestable practices, you brought foreigners uncircumcised in heart and flesh into my sanctuary, desecrating my temple while you offered me food, fat and blood, and you broke my covenant.

You brought outsiders into my temple. They were not circumcised. Their hearts were stubborn. You made my temple‘ unclean.’ But you offered me food, fat and blood anyway. When you did all these things, you broke the covenant I made with you. I hated all the evil things you did.

and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, (niv)

lay your hand on its head and slaughter it in front of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron’s sons shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar.From what you offer you are to present this food offering to the Lord: the internal organs and all the fat that is connected to them,both kidneys with the fat on them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver, which you will remove with the kidneys.The priest shall burn them on the altar as a food offering, a pleasing aroma. All the fat is the Lord’s.“‘ This is a lasting ordinance for the generations to come, wherever you live: You must not eat any fat or any blood.’” (niv)

They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the food offerings to the Lord, the food of their God, they are to be holy. (niv)

Regard them as holy, because they offer up the food of your God. Consider them holy, because I the Lord am holy— I who make you holy. (niv)

And the Lord said to Moses:“ You are going to rest with your ancestors, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering. They will forsake me and break the covenant I made with them. (niv)

The people of Israel will never again defile my holy name— neither they nor their kings— by their prostitution and the funeral offerings for their kings at their death.When they placed their threshold next to my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they defiled my holy name by their detestable practices. So I destroyed them in my anger. (niv)

“ A foreigner residing among you who wants to celebrate the Lord’s Passover must have all the males in his household circumcised; then he may take part like one born in the land. No uncircumcised male may eat it. (niv)

Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves,“ How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”Jesus said to them,“ Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them.Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me.This is the bread that came down from heaven. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. (niv)

When I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, the land I promised on oath to their ancestors, and when they eat their fill and thrive, they will turn to other gods and worship them, rejecting me and breaking my covenant. (niv)

“ By offering defiled food on my altar.“ But you ask,‘ How have we defiled you?’“ By saying that the Lord’s table is contemptible. (niv)

They took pride in their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols. They made it into vile images; therefore I will make it a thing unclean for them. (niv)

“ But you profane it by saying,‘ The Lord’s table is defiled,’ and,‘ Its food is contemptible.’And you say,‘ What a burden!’ and you sniff at it contemptuously,” says the Lord Almighty.“ When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?” says the Lord.“ Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king,” says the Lord Almighty,“ and my name is to be feared among the nations. (niv)

No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to come near to present the food offerings to the Lord. He has a defect; he must not come near to offer the food of his God. (niv)

It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. (niv)

Her priests do violence to my law and profane my holy things; they do not distinguish between the holy and the common; they teach that there is no difference between the unclean and the clean; and they shut their eyes to the keeping of my Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. (niv)

For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life. (niv)

The earth is defiled by its people; they have disobeyed the laws, violated the statutes and broken the everlasting covenant. (niv)

The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. (niv)

They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. (niv)

A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God. (niv)
