Look at the people of Israel. Are not those who eat the sacrifices partners in the altar?Am I saying that idols or food sacrificed to them amount to anything?No, I mean that what the pagans sacrifice is to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be partners with demons.You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.Or are we trying to provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we really stronger than he is?“ Everything is lawful,” but not everything is beneficial.“ Everything is lawful,” but not everything builds others up.Do not seek your own good, but the good of the other person.Eat anything that is sold in the marketplace without questions of conscience,for the earth and its abundance are the Lord’s.If an unbeliever invites you to dinner and you want to go, eat whatever is served without asking questions of conscience.But if someone says to you,“ This is from a sacrifice,” do not eat, because of the one who told you and because of conscience–I do not mean yours but the other person’s. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience?If I partake with thankfulness, why am I blamed for the food that I give thanks for?So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.Do not give offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God,just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit of many, so that they may be saved.

You will not be allowed to eat in your villages your tithe of grain, new wine, olive oil, the firstborn of your herd and flock, any votive offerings you have vowed, or your freewill and personal offerings.Only in the presence of the LORD your God may you eat these, in the place he chooses. This applies to you, your son, your daughter, your male and female servants, and the Levites in your villages. In that place you will rejoice before the LORD your God in all the output of your labor.

Both you and your families must feast there before the LORD your God and rejoice in all the output of your labor with which he has blessed you.

But those who harvest the grain will eat it, and will praise the LORD. Those who pick the grapes will drink the wine in the courts of my holy sanctuary.”

Listen! I am standing at the door and knocking! If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come into his home and share a meal with him, and he with me.

Her profits and earnings will be set apart for the LORD. They will not be stored up or accumulated, for her profits will be given to those who live in the LORD’s presence and will be used to purchase large quantities of food and beautiful clothes.

The officers and trumpeters stood beside the king and all the people of the land were celebrating and blowing trumpets, and the musicians with various instruments were leading the celebration. Athaliah tore her clothes and yelled,“ Treason! Treason!”

Then say to him,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Look– here is the man whose name is Branch, who will sprout up from his place and build the temple of the LORD.Indeed, he will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed in splendor, sitting as king on his throne. Moreover, there will be a priest with him on his throne and they will see eye to eye on everything.
