Then he brought me back by way of the outer gate of the sanctuary which faces east, but it was shut.

Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary, the one facing east, and it was shut.

Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the temple. It was the one that faced east. It was shut.

When the priests enter, then they will not go out from the sanctuary to the outer court without taking off their garments in which they minister, for these are holy; they will put on other garments, then they will go near the places where the people are.”

Then he went to the gate facing east. He climbed its steps and measured the threshold of the gate as 10½ feet deep.

shouting,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this sanctuary! Furthermore he has brought Greeks into the inner courts of the temple and made this holy place ritually unclean!”( For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him previously, and they assumed Paul had brought him into the inner temple courts.)The whole city was stirred up, and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple courts, and immediately the doors were shut.

In the two courtyards of the LORD’s temple he built altars for all the stars in the sky.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: The gate of the inner court that faces east will be closed six working days, but on the Sabbath day it will be opened and on the day of the new moon it will be opened.

The glory of the LORD came into the temple by way of the gate that faces east.

Jehoshaphat stood before the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem at the LORD’s temple, in front of the new courtyard.

He made the courtyard of the priests and the large enclosure and its doors; he plated their doors with bronze.
