When they placed their threshold next to my threshold and their doorposts beside my doorposts, with only a wall between me and them, they defiled my holy name by their detestable practices. So I destroyed them in my anger.

The people of Israel placed their own doorway next to my holy doorway. They put their doorposts right beside mine. Nothing but a thin wall separated us. They treated my name as if it were not holy. I hated it when they did that. So I became angry with them and destroyed them.

主耶和华说：“因为你们用一切可憎的偶像和恶行玷污我的圣所，我凭我的永恒起誓，我必毫不留情地铲除你们。

祂好像伸出一只手，抓住我的头发。在异象中，灵把我举到天地之间，将我带到耶路撒冷圣殿内院的北门，那里供奉着惹耶和华愤恨的神像。我忽然看见那里有以色列上帝的荣耀，跟我在平原所见的一样。祂对我说：“人子啊，你举目北望。”于是，我举目朝北一望，见在祭坛门的北面有惹耶和华愤恨的神像。祂又对我说：“人子啊，你看见以色列人的所作所为了吗？他们在这里行那些极其可憎的事，以致我远离我的圣所。你会看到更可憎的事。”祂带我到院子的门口，我看见墙上有一个洞。祂对我说：“人子啊，你挖这墙。”我挖开墙后，看见一道门。祂对我说：“你进去看看他们在这里做的邪恶可憎的事吧。”我进去后，看见四周的墙上画满了各种爬虫、可憎的兽类和以色列人拜的神像。神像前面站着以色列的七十个长老，沙番的儿子雅撒尼亚也在当中，他们每人手中都拿着香炉，烟雾缭绕。祂又对我说：“人子啊，你看见以色列的长老在自己藏神像的房间里暗中所做的了吗？他们说，‘耶和华看不见我们，祂已经抛弃了这片土地。’”祂继续说：“你会看到他们做更可憎的事。”祂带我来到耶和华的殿外院的北门，看见一些妇女坐在那里为搭模斯神像哭泣。祂对我说：“人子啊，你看见了吗？你会看到更可憎的事。”祂带我来到耶和华殿的内院，在殿门口，走廊和祭坛中间约有二十五个人背向耶和华的殿，面向东方朝拜太阳。

耶和华曾指着祂的殿说：“我的名必在耶路撒冷”，而他却在耶和华的殿内建造异教的祭坛。他在耶和华殿的两个院子里建造祭拜天上万象的祭坛；他烧死自己的儿子，献作祭物；他行邪术，占卜，求问灵媒和巫师，做了许多耶和华视为恶的事，惹耶和华发怒。他雕刻亚舍拉神像，放在耶和华的殿中。关于这殿，耶和华曾对大卫和他儿子所罗门说：“我从以色列各支派中选择了耶路撒冷和这殿，我的名要在这里永远受尊崇。

他把献给耶和华的铜坛从耶和华的殿前搬到新坛的北边，铜坛原来放在殿和新坛之间。他吩咐乌利亚祭司：“要在这座大坛上献早晨的燔祭、晚上的素祭，王的燔祭、素祭，国中民众的燔祭、素祭和奠祭，燔祭牲和平安祭牲的血也要洒在上面，但铜坛要供我个人求问之用。”

她们焚烧自己的儿女献祭给偶像，并在当天进入我的圣所，亵渎圣所。这就是她们在我圣所里的恶行。

他从耶和华的殿门口除掉犹大各王献给太阳神的马匹，这些马匹在太监拿单·米勒房子旁边的院子里。他烧掉了那些献给太阳神的战车。他推倒犹大各王在亚哈斯楼顶上建造的祭坛，摧毁玛拿西在耶和华殿的两个院子里所筑的祭坛，把它们打碎，把灰丢进汲沦溪。
