And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

但你們的罪孽使你們與上帝隔絕，你們的罪惡使他轉臉不聽你們。

你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看，就算你們多多祈禱，我也不聽；你們的手沾滿了血。

「許多國的百姓經過這城，就彼此談論說：『耶和華為何向這大城這樣做呢？』必有人回答說：『是因他們離棄了耶和華－他們上帝的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」

我要使刀劍臨到你們，報復你們的背約。你們若被趕入城中，我要降瘟疫在你們中間，把你們交在仇敵手中。

我不再轉臉不顧他們，因我已將我的靈澆灌以色列家。這是主耶和華說的。」

說：『我要轉臉離開他們，看他們的結局如何。他們是極乖謬的世代，是不忠實的兒女。

若非他們的磐石賣了他們，若非耶和華交出他們，一人豈能追趕千人，二人焉能使萬人逃跑呢？

耶和華啊，你為甚麼站在遠處？在患難的時候為甚麼隱藏？

耶和華的怒氣向以色列發作，把他們交在搶奪他們的人手中，又把他們交給四圍仇敵的手中，以致他們在仇敵面前再也不能站立得住。

耶路撒冷犯了大罪，因此成為不潔淨；素來尊敬她的，見她裸露就都藐視她，她自己也嘆息退後。

他們與迦勒底人爭戰，用我在怒氣和憤怒中所殺之人的屍首塞滿這房屋；我因他們一切的惡，轉臉不顧這城。

那時，我的怒氣必向他們發作，我必離棄他們，轉臉不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多的禍患災難臨到他們。在那日，人必說：『這些禍患臨到我，豈不是因為我的上帝不在我中間嗎？』在那日，因人偏向別神所行的一切惡事，我必定轉臉不顧。

耶和華啊，你曾施恩，使我穩固如山；你轉臉不顧，我就驚惶。

將他們交在外邦人手裏，恨他們的人就轄制他們。

護衛長提耶利米來，對他說：「耶和華－你的上帝曾說要降這災禍給此地。耶和華照他所說的做了，已使這災禍臨到；因你們得罪耶和華，不聽從他的話，所以這事臨到你們。

凡過路的都向你拍掌。他們向耶路撒冷嗤笑，搖頭：「這就是人稱為全美的、稱為全地所喜悅的城嗎？」你所有的仇敵張口來攻擊你；他們嗤笑，切齒，說：「我們把她吞滅了，這是我們所盼望的日子！我們終於等到了，親眼看見了！」耶和華成就了他所定的，應驗了他古時所命定的。他傾覆，並不顧惜，他使仇敵向你誇耀，使你敵人的角高舉。

這殿雖然崇高，將來凡經過的人必驚訝說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』人必說：『因為此地的人離棄領他們祖先出埃及地的耶和華－他們的上帝，去親近別神，敬拜事奉它們，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」

無人求告你的名，無人奮力抓住你。你轉臉不顧我們，你使我們因罪孽而融化。

我要等候那轉臉不顧雅各家的耶和華，也要仰望他。

誰將雅各交出作為擄物，將以色列交給搶奪者呢？豈不是耶和華－我們所得罪的那位嗎？他們不肯遵行他的道，也不聽從他的訓誨。

所以我因他們在那地流人的血，且以偶像使那地玷污，就把我的憤怒傾倒在他們身上。我將他們分散到列國，四散在列邦，按他們的所作所為懲罰他們。他們到了所去的列國，使我的聖名被褻瀆；因為人談論他們說，這是耶和華的子民，卻從耶和華的地出來。但我顧惜我的聖名，就是以色列家在所到的列國中褻瀆的。「所以，你要對以色列家說，主耶和華如此說：以色列家啊，我做這事不是為你們，而是為了我的聖名，就是你們在所到的列國中褻瀆的。我要使我至大的名顯為聖；這名在列國中已遭褻瀆，是你們在他們中間褻瀆的。我在他們眼前，在你們身上顯為聖的時候，他們就知道我是耶和華。這是主耶和華說的。

所以耶和華的怒氣向以色列發作，把他們交給美索不達米亞王古珊‧利薩田的手中。以色列人服事古珊‧利薩田八年。

那時，在你們四圍其餘的列國必知道，我－耶和華修造那毀壞之處，開墾那荒蕪之地。我－耶和華說了這話，就必成就。
