And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will know that the people of Israel were taken away as prisoners because they sinned against me. They were not faithful to me. So I turned my face away from them. I handed them over to their enemies. All of them were killed by swords.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

乃是你們的罪孽使你們跟你們的上帝隔絕，而你們的罪使他掩面不聽你們啊。

你們伸開雙手來禱告，我必掩目不看你們；就使你們多多禱告，我也不聽；你們的手都滿了血，你們的指頭滿了罪孽。

『「必有許多國的人要經過這城，彼此對問說：『永恆主為甚麼這樣罰辦這個大城呢？』他們就必回答說：『是因為他們離棄了永恆主他們的上帝的約，去敬拜服事別的神呀。』」』

我要使刀劍擊殺你們，對你們施行背約的報罰。你們聚集在你們的城內，我要打發瘟疫在你們中間，要將你們交在仇敵手中。

我也不再掩面不顧他們，因為我已將我的靈傾注於以色列家：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。』

說：「我必掩面不顧他們，看他們的結局怎樣，因為他們是反覆乖張的一代，心裏沒有忠信的兒女。

若不是他們的磐石把他們交付出來，若不是永恆主把他們送交給我們，我們一人怎能追趕他們千人呢？我們兩個人怎能使他們萬人逃跑呢？

永恆主啊，你為甚麼站在遠處？我在患難時你為甚麼掩面不顧呢？

永恆主向以色列人發怒，就把他們交在搶掠的人手中，這些人就搶擄他們；他又把他們交付於他們四圍的仇敵手中，以致他們在仇敵面前再也站不住。

耶路撒冷大大犯罪，因而成了人所搖頭譏刺的對象；素來尊敬她的，見她赤身裸體、都輕蔑她。她自己也歎息、而退後。

迦勒底人必來攻城，使這些房屋充滿着人的屍身，就是我發怒氣和烈怒時所擊殺的人；因為我因他們一切的壞事掩面不顧這城。

當那日子、我必向他們發怒，撇棄他們、掩面不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多災禍患難找到他們身上去。當那日子他們必說：「這些災禍找到我們身上來、豈不是因我們的上帝不在我們中間麼？」當那日子、因他們偏向別的神而行的一切壞事、我必定掩面不顧他們。

永恆主啊，由於你的恩悅、我就立得穩在鞏固山上。但你掩了面，我便驚惶。

把他們交於外國人手裏，恨惡他們的人就管轄他們。

護衛長將耶利米提出來，對他說：『永恆主你的上帝曾經說到這災禍要臨到這地方的事；如今永恆主使災禍來到，照他所說的行了；因為你們犯罪得罪了永恆主，沒有聽他的聲音，故此這事才臨到你們。

所有過路的人都拍掌嘲笑你；他們都向耶路撒冷小姐嗤笑搖頭說；『難道人所稱為十全十美、全地所喜悅的、就是這城麼？』你的仇敵都抿着嘴來調弄你；他們嗤笑着又切齒着，說：『我們吞滅了她了！啊！這正是我們所盼望的日子呀！我們得到了！我們看到了！』永恆主成就了他所計畫的，實行了他威嚴的話，就是他古時所命定的；他翻毁了，並不顧惜；他使你仇敵因勝過你而喜悅，使你敵人的角高舉。

對這座這麼高聳的殿、凡從這裏經過的人、個個都必驚訝着說：「永恆主為甚麼向這地和這殿這樣辦呢？」人必回答說：「是因為這地的人離棄了永恆主他們列祖的上帝、那領他們出埃及地的上帝，去依附着別的神、而敬拜服事他們；故此永恆主才使這一切災禍臨到了他們。」』

沒有人呼求你的名，沒有人奮發、抓住着你；因為你掩面不顧我們，已把我們送交於我們的罪罰權勢了。

我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的永恆主；我要仰望他。

誰將雅各交給搶掠者，將以色列交給掠劫者呢？豈不是永恆主、他們所得罪的，他們不肯行他的道路，不聽從其指教的那位麼？

故此我因他們在那地所流了人的血、又因他們以他們的偶像去玷污那地，我就把我的烈怒傾倒在他們身上。我使他們分散在列國，使他們四散在列邦，按他們所行所作的來判罰他們。他們到了所去的任何列國，總使我的聖名被褻瀆，因為人們總是談論他們說：「這些人是耶和華的人民，卻又不能不從耶和華之地出來！」然而我卻顧惜我的聖名，就是以色列家在所去到的列國中所褻瀆的。『為此你要對以色列家說：主永恆主這麼說：以色列家啊，我將要行事、並不是為了你們，乃是為了我自己的聖名，就是在你們所去到的列國中你們所使它被褻瀆的。我的尊大之名在列國中被褻瀆，就是你們在他們中間所褻瀆的；我一定要使它彰顯為聖；我在他們眼前在你們身上彰顯為聖時，外國人就知道我乃是永恆主：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

因此永恆主向以色列人發怒，就把他們交付於米所波大米王古珊利薩田手中；以色列人服事了古珊利薩田八年。

那時在你們四圍的其餘外國人就知道是我永恆主修造了這些毁壞之處，栽植了這些荒涼之地：我永恆主說了，我必作成。
