And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will know that the people of Israel were taken away as prisoners because they sinned against me. They were not faithful to me. So I turned my face away from them. I handed them over to their enemies. All of them were killed by swords.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

但你們的罪孽使你們與神隔絕；你們的罪惡使他掩面不聽你們。

你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看；就是你們多多地祈禱，我也不聽。你們的手都滿了殺人的血。

「許多國的民要經過這城，各人對鄰舍說：『耶和華為何向這大城如此行呢？』他們必回答說：『是因離棄了耶和華－他們神的約，事奉敬拜別神。』」

我又要使刀劍臨到你們，報復你們背約的仇；聚集你們在各城內，降瘟疫在你們中間，也必將你們交在仇敵的手中。

我也不再掩面不顧他們，因我已將我的靈澆灌以色列家。這是主耶和華說的。」

我要向他們掩面，看他們的結局如何。他們本是極乖僻的族類，心中無誠實的兒女。

若不是他們的磐石賣了他們，若不是耶和華交出他們，一人焉能追趕他們千人？二人焉能使萬人逃跑呢？

耶和華啊，你為甚麼站在遠處？在患難的時候為甚麼隱藏？

耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，就把他們交在搶奪他們的人手中，又將他們付與四圍仇敵的手中，甚至他們在仇敵面前再不能站立得住。

耶路撒冷大大犯罪，所以成為不潔之物；素來尊敬她的，見她赤露就都藐視她；她自己也歎息退後。

人要與迦勒底人爭戰，正是拿死屍充滿這房屋，就是我在怒氣和忿怒中所殺的人，因他們的一切惡，我就掩面不顧這城。

那時，我的怒氣必向他們發作；我也必離棄他們，掩面不顧他們，以致他們被吞滅，並有許多的禍患災難臨到他們。那日他們必說：『這些禍患臨到我們，豈不是因我們的神不在我們中間嗎？』那時，因他們偏向別神所行的一切惡，我必定掩面不顧他們。

耶和華啊，你曾施恩，叫我的江山穩固；你掩了面，我就驚惶。

將他們交在外邦人的手裏；恨他們的人就轄制他們。

護衛長將耶利米叫來，對他說：「耶和華－你的神曾說要降這禍與此地。耶和華使這禍臨到，照他所說的行了；因為你們得罪耶和華，沒有聽從他的話，所以這事臨到你們。

凡過路的都向你拍掌。他們向耶路撒冷城嗤笑，搖頭，說：難道人所稱為全美的，稱為全地所喜悅的，就是這城嗎？你的仇敵都向你大大張口；他們嗤笑，又切齒說：我們吞滅她。這真是我們所盼望的日子臨到了！我們親眼看見了！耶和華成就了他所定的，應驗了他古時所命定的。他傾覆了，並不顧惜，使你的仇敵向你誇耀；使你敵人的角也被高舉。

這殿雖然甚高，將來經過的人必驚訝說：『耶和華為何向這地和這殿如此行呢？』人必回答說：『是因此地的人離棄耶和華－他們列祖的神，就是領他們出埃及地的神，去親近別神，敬拜事奉他，所以耶和華使這一切災禍臨到他們。』」

並且無人求告你的名；無人奮力抓住你。原來你掩面不顧我們，使我們因罪孽消化。

我要等候那掩面不顧雅各家的耶和華；我也要仰望他。

誰將雅各交出當作擄物，將以色列交給搶奪的呢？豈不是耶和華嗎？就是我們所得罪的那位。他們不肯遵行他的道，也不聽從他的訓誨。

所以我因他們在那地上流人的血，又因他們以偶像玷污那地，就把我的忿怒傾在他們身上。我將他們分散在列國，四散在列邦，按他們的行動作為懲罰他們。他們到了所去的列國，就使我的聖名被褻瀆；因為人談論他們說，這是耶和華的民，是從耶和華的地出來的。我卻顧惜我的聖名，就是以色列家在所到的列國中所褻瀆的。「所以，你要對以色列家說，主耶和華如此說：以色列家啊，我行這事不是為你們，乃是為我的聖名，就是在你們到的列國中所褻瀆的。我要使我的大名顯為聖；這名在列國中已被褻瀆，就是你們在他們中間所褻瀆的。我在他們眼前，在你們身上顯為聖的時候，他們就知道我是耶和華。這是主耶和華說的。

所以耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作，就把他們交在美索不達米亞王古珊‧利薩田的手中。以色列人服事古珊‧利薩田八年。

那時，在你們四圍其餘的外邦人必知道我－耶和華修造那毀壞之處，培植那荒廢之地。我－耶和華說過，也必成就。
