And the nations will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin, because they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will know that the people of Israel were taken away as prisoners because they sinned against me. They were not faithful to me. So I turned my face away from them. I handed them over to their enemies. All of them were killed by swords.

And the nations shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity, because they dealt so treacherously with me that I hid my face from them and gave them into the hand of their adversaries, and they all fell by the sword.

The nations will then know why Israel was sent away to exile— it was punishment for sin, for they were unfaithful to their God. Therefore, I turned away from them and let their enemies destroy them.

但你们的罪孽使你们与神隔绝；你们的罪恶使他掩面不听你们。

你们举手祷告，我必遮眼不看；就是你们多多地祈祷，我也不听。你们的手都满了杀人的血。

许多国的民要经过这城，各人对邻舍说：‘耶和华为何向这大城如此行呢？’他们必回答说：‘是因离弃了耶和华他们神的约，侍奉敬拜别神。’”

我又要使刀剑临到你们，报复你们背约的仇；聚集你们在各城内，降瘟疫在你们中间，也必将你们交在仇敌的手中。

我也不再掩面不顾他们，因我已将我的灵浇灌以色列家。这是主耶和华说的。”

说：‘我要向他们掩面，看他们的结局如何。他们本是极乖僻的族类，心中无诚实的儿女。

若不是他们的磐石卖了他们，若不是耶和华交出他们，一人焉能追赶他们千人？二人焉能使万人逃跑呢？

耶和华啊，你为什么站在远处？在患难的时候为什么隐藏？

耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，就把他们交在抢夺他们的人手中，又将他们付与四围仇敌的手中，甚至他们在仇敌面前再不能站立得住。

耶路撒冷大大犯罪，所以成为不洁之物；素来尊敬她的，见她赤露就都藐视她；她自己也叹息退后。

人要与迦勒底人争战，正是拿死尸充满这房屋，就是我在怒气和忿怒中所杀的人，因他们的一切恶，我就掩面不顾这城。

那时，我的怒气必向他们发作；我也必离弃他们，掩面不顾他们，以致他们被吞灭，并有许多的祸患灾难临到他们。那日他们必说：‘这些祸患临到我们，岂不是因我们的神不在我们中间吗？’那时，因他们偏向别神所行的一切恶，我必定掩面不顾他们。

耶和华啊，你曾施恩，叫我的江山稳固；你掩了面，我就惊惶。

将他们交在外邦人的手里；恨他们的人就辖制他们。

护卫长将耶利米叫来，对他说：“耶和华你的神曾说要降这祸与此地。耶和华使这祸临到，照他所说的行了；因为你们得罪耶和华，没有听从他的话，所以这事临到你们。

凡过路的都向你拍掌。他们向耶路撒冷城嗤笑，摇头，说：“难道人所称为全美的，称为全地所喜悦的，就是这城吗？”你的仇敌都向你大大张口；他们嗤笑，又切齿说：“我们吞灭她。这真是我们所盼望的日子临到了！我们亲眼看见了！”耶和华成就了他所定的，应验了他古时所命定的。他倾覆了，并不顾惜，使你的仇敌向你夸耀；使你敌人的角也被高举。

这殿虽然甚高，将来经过的人必惊讶说：‘耶和华为何向这地和这殿如此行呢？’人必回答说：‘是因此地的人离弃耶和华他们列祖的神，就是领他们出埃及地的神，去亲近别神，敬拜侍奉他，所以耶和华使这一切灾祸临到他们。’”

并且无人求告你的名；无人奋力抓住你。原来你掩面不顾我们，使我们因罪孽消化。

我要等候那掩面不顾雅各家的耶和华；我也要仰望他。

谁将雅各交出当作掳物，将以色列交给抢夺的呢？岂不是耶和华吗？就是我们所得罪的那位。他们不肯遵行他的道，也不听从他的训诲。

所以我因他们在那地上流人的血，又因他们以偶像玷污那地，就把我的忿怒倾在他们身上。我将他们分散在列国，四散在列邦，按他们的行动作为惩罚他们。他们到了所去的列国，就使我的圣名被亵渎；因为人谈论他们说，这是耶和华的民，是从耶和华的地出来的。我却顾惜我的圣名，就是以色列家在所到的列国中所亵渎的。“所以，你要对以色列家说，主耶和华如此说：以色列家啊，我行这事不是为你们，乃是为我的圣名，就是在你们到的列国中所亵渎的。我要使我的大名显为圣；这名在列国中已被亵渎，就是你们在他们中间所亵渎的。我在他们眼前，在你们身上显为圣的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华说的。

所以耶和华的怒气向以色列人发作，就把他们交在美索不达米亚王古珊利萨田的手中。以色列人服侍古珊利萨田八年。

那时，在你们四围其余的外邦人必知道我耶和华修造那毁坏之处，培植那荒废之地。我耶和华说过，也必成就。
