说：“你们到圣殿去，把这生命之道传给百姓。”使徒遵从命令，在黎明的时候来到圣殿开始教导众人。大祭司和他的同党召集了所有公会的人和以色列的众长老，然后派人去监狱把使徒押来受审。差役来到监狱时，发现使徒已经不见了，就回去禀告，说：“我们看见牢门紧锁，守卫都站在门外，但打开门一看，里面却空无一人！”圣殿护卫长和祭司长听后，都很困扰，不知道是怎么回事。这时有人来报告说：“你们关押在牢里的人正在圣殿里教导人！”圣殿护卫长和差役再去把使徒抓回来。这次他们不敢动粗，生怕百姓会用石头打他们。使徒被带来后站在公会前，大祭司盘问他们，说：“我们不是严禁你们奉耶稣的名去教导百姓吗？你们竟然在耶路撒冷各处传道，还想把杀那人的血债归到我们身上！”彼得和其他使徒申辩说：“我们要服从的是上帝，而非人。

耶和华说：“你出来站在山上，站在我面前。”耶和华从那里经过时，疾风大作，劈山碎石，但耶和华不在风中。疾风过后又有地震，但耶和华不在其中。地震之后又有火，但耶和华也不在火中。之后，传来微小的声音。以利亚听见后，就用外袍蒙着脸出去站在洞口。那声音问他：“以利亚，你在这里做什么？”

但彼得和约翰答道：“要我们听从你们而不听从上帝，这在上帝看来合理吗？你们自己想想吧。

他们听了彼得的话，觉得扎心，就对彼得和其他使徒说：“弟兄们，我们该怎么办呢？”

于是，我照耶和华的吩咐把腰带藏在那里。多日后，耶和华对我说：“去幼发拉底河边取回我吩咐你藏的腰带。”我就去幼发拉底河边把所藏的腰带挖出来，但腰带已经腐烂，不能用了。

突然间发生大地震，整座监狱的地基都摇动起来，牢门立刻全开了，囚犯的锁链也都松开了。狱卒惊醒后，看见牢门尽开，以为囚犯已经逃走了，就想拔刀自杀。保罗见状，大声喝止：“不要伤害自己，我们都在这里！”狱卒叫人拿灯过来，冲进内牢，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和西拉面前。

忽然，天上发出一阵响声，好像狂风呼啸而过，充满了他们所在的房子，

耶利米传达完耶和华的话之后，祭司、先知和民众就抓住他，说：“你真该死！
