“‘ “A man who belongs to the family line of my servant David will be their king. All of them will have one shepherd. They will obey my laws. And they will be careful to keep my rules.

He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.

Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.

I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.

I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the Lord have spoken.

Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed— not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence— continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.

“ But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

The Lord your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live.

And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called;one Lord, one faith, one baptism;one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

“ This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.“ I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

He will stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared,he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior,so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

I will give them singleness of heart and action, so that they will always fear me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them.

He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,

The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails— given by one shepherd.

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.It teaches us to say“ No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,while we wait for the blessed hope— the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

“ I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—just as the Father knows me and I know the Father— and I lay down my life for the sheep.I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.

Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,

I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

“ Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me!” declares the Lord Almighty.“ Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones.

from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance.And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them.
