“人子啊！你要拿一根木杖，在上面寫‘猶大和那些與他一起的以色列人’；又拿另一根木杖，在上面寫‘以法蓮的木杖，就是約瑟和與他一起的以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的同伴以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是为以法莲，又为他的同伴以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的盟友以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是以法莲的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的盟友以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是以法莲的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你拿一根杖来，写上‘犹大和他的以色列同伴’，然后再拿另一根杖，写上‘约瑟，即以法莲，与他的以色列同伴’。

「人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上寫『為猶大和他的盟友以色列人』；又取一根木杖，在其上寫『為約瑟，就是以法蓮的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家』。

「人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上寫『為猶大和他的盟友以色列人』；又取一根木杖，在其上寫『為約瑟，就是以法蓮的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家』。

「人子啊，你拿一根杖來，寫上『猶大和他的以色列同伴』，然後再拿另一根杖，寫上『約瑟，即以法蓮，與他的以色列同伴』。

『人子啊，你要取一根木棍，上面寫上：「代表猶大和跟他聯合的以色列人」；又取一根木棍，上面寫上：「代表約瑟（以法蓮）和跟他聯合的以色列全家」。

人子歟、其取一杖、書於上曰、是為猶大、及同儕以色列族、又取一杖、書於上曰、是為約瑟之以法蓮、及同儕以色列全家、

“ Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it,‘ Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it,‘ Belonging to Joseph( that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’

“ Son of man, get a stick of wood. Write on it,‘ Belonging to the tribe of Judah and the Israelites who are connected with it.’ Then get another stick. Write on it,‘ Ephraim’s stick. Belonging to the tribes of Joseph and all the Israelites connected with them.’

“ Son of man, take a stick and write on it,‘ For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph( the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

“ Son of man, take a piece of wood and carve on it these words:‘ This represents Judah and its allied tribes.’ Then take another piece and carve these words on it:‘ This represents Ephraim and the northern tribes of Israel.’

“ Son of man, take a single stick and write on it: Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him. Then take another stick and write on it: Belonging to Joseph— the stick of Ephraim— and all the house of Israel associated with him.

“ Now you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it,‘ For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’

“ As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it:‘ For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’

And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions:

“ As for you, son of man, take one branch, and write on it,‘ For Judah, and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another branch and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

“ You, son of man, take one stick, and write on it,‘ For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions.’ Then take another stick, and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions.’

他又召聚了猶大和便雅憫所有的人，以及在他們中間寄居的以法蓮人、瑪拿西人、西緬人。以色列人看見了耶和華亞撒的神和他同在，就有很多人投奔亞撒。

只有那些住在猶大眾城鎮的以色列人，羅波安仍然作他們的王。

這樣，以色列人背叛了大衛家，直到今日。

“你要吩咐以色列人，要從他們手中取杖，按著父家每支派一根，從他們所有的領袖，按著他們的父家，共取十二根杖，你要把各人的名字寫在各人的杖上；又要把亞倫的名字寫在利未的杖上，因為照著他們父家各族長必有一根杖。

以色列眾人見王不肯聽從他們的請求，就回答王說：“我們在大衛裡面有甚麼分呢？我們在耶西的兒子裡面也沒有產業；以色列人哪，回你們自己的家去吧！大衛啊，照顧你自己的家吧！”於是以色列人都回自己的家去了。不過住在猶大各城的以色列人，羅波安仍然作他們的王。羅波安王差派掌管作苦工之人的亞多蘭往以色列人那裡去，以色列眾人卻用石頭打死他。羅波安王急忙上車逃回耶路撒冷去了。這樣，以色列人背叛了大衛家，直到今日。以色列眾人聽說耶羅波安回來了，就派人去請他到會眾面前，立他作以色列的王；除了猶大支派以外，沒有跟隨大衛家的。

他又鞏固這些設防城，在城裡設軍長，貯備糧食、油和酒。又在各城裝備了大盾牌和矛槍，使這些城市十分堅固。這樣，猶大和便雅憫都在他統治之下。全以色列的祭司和利未人，都從各地來歸向羅波安。利未人放棄了他們的草場和產業，來到猶大和耶路撒冷，是因為耶羅波安和他的兒子排斥他們，不准他們作祭司事奉耶和華。耶羅波安為邱壇、公山羊神，以及他鑄造的牛犢，自己設立了祭司。以色列眾支派中所有定意尋求耶和華以色列的神的，都隨著利未人來到耶路撒冷，向耶和華他們列祖的神獻祭。這樣，他們就加強了猶大國的勢力，使所羅門的兒子羅波安強盛了三年，因為他們在這三年，跟隨了大衛和所羅門的道路。

可是在亞設、瑪拿西和西布倫中，也有人願意謙卑，來到耶路撒冷。神的能力也幫助猶大人，使他們一心遵行王和眾領袖奉耶和華的命令發出的吩咐。二月，有很多人在耶路撒冷聚集，要舉行無酵節，集合了一大群會眾。他們起來，把耶路撒冷城中的祭壇和一切香壇，盡都除去，拋在汲淪溪中。二月十四日，他們宰了逾越節的羊羔。祭司和利未人都覺得慚愧，就自潔，把燔祭帶到耶和華的殿裡。他們遵照神人摩西的律法，按著定例，站在自己的崗位上。祭司從利未人手裡把血接過來，灑在祭壇上。因為會眾中有很多人還沒有自潔，所以利未人必須為所有不潔的人宰殺逾越節的羊羔，使他們在耶和華面前成為聖潔。原來有一大群人，很多是從以法蓮、瑪拿西、以薩迦和西布倫來的，還沒有自潔，就吃逾越節的羊羔，不遵照所記的定例；因此，希西家為他們禱告說：“凡是立定心意，專一尋求神耶和華他們列祖的神的，雖然沒有照著聖所潔淨的禮自潔，願良善的耶和華也饒恕他們。”
