“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的同伴以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是为以法莲，又为他的同伴以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的盟友以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是以法莲的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家’。

“人子啊，你要取一根木杖，在其上写‘为犹大和他的盟友以色列人’；又取一根木杖，在其上写‘为约瑟，就是以法莲的杖，和他的盟友以色列全家’。

“人子啊！你要拿一根木杖，在上面写‘犹大和那些与他一起的以色列人’；又拿另一根木杖，在上面写‘以法莲的木杖，就是约瑟和与他一起的以色列全家’。

「人子啊，你拿一根杖來，寫上『猶大和他的以色列同伴』，然後再拿另一根杖，寫上『約瑟，即以法蓮，與他的以色列同伴』。

“人子啊！你要拿一根木杖，在上面寫‘猶大和那些與他一起的以色列人’；又拿另一根木杖，在上面寫‘以法蓮的木杖，就是約瑟和與他一起的以色列全家’。

『人子啊，你要取一根木棍，上面寫上：「代表猶大和跟他聯合的以色列人」；又取一根木棍，上面寫上：「代表約瑟（以法蓮）和跟他聯合的以色列全家」。

“ Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it,‘ Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it,‘ Belonging to Joseph( that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’

“ Son of man, get a stick of wood. Write on it,‘ Belonging to the tribe of Judah and the Israelites who are connected with it.’ Then get another stick. Write on it,‘ Ephraim’s stick. Belonging to the tribes of Joseph and all the Israelites connected with them.’

“ Son of man, take a stick and write on it,‘ For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph( the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

“ Son of man, take a piece of wood and carve on it these words:‘ This represents Judah and its allied tribes.’ Then take another piece and carve these words on it:‘ This represents Ephraim and the northern tribes of Israel.’

“ Son of man, take a single stick and write on it: Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him. Then take another stick and write on it: Belonging to Joseph— the stick of Ephraim— and all the house of Israel associated with him.

“ Now you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it,‘ For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’

“ As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it:‘ For Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions.’

“ As for you, son of man, take one branch, and write on it,‘ For Judah, and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another branch and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

“ You, son of man, take one stick, and write on it,‘ For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions.’ Then take another stick, and write on it,‘ For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions.’

当时，有许多以法莲人、玛拿西人和西缅人看见亚撒的上帝耶和华与他同在，就从以色列来投奔他，寄居在犹大。亚撒把他们和所有的犹大人与便雅悯人都招聚在一起。

但住在犹大城邑的以色列人仍受罗波安统治。

从此，以色列人反叛大卫家，直到今天。

“你叫以色列各支派的首领每人拿一根杖来，共十二根，你要在上面写上他们各人的名字。你要把亚伦的名字写在利未支派的杖上，每个支派的首领都要有一根杖。

以色列人见王不听他们的请求，就说：“我们与大卫有何相干？我们与耶西的儿子没有关系！以色列人啊，各自回家吧！大卫家啊，自己照顾自己吧！”于是，以色列人各自回家了。但住在犹大城邑的以色列人仍受罗波安统治。罗波安王派劳役总管亚多兰去以色列人那里，以色列人却用石头打死了他，罗波安王连忙上车逃回耶路撒冷。从此，以色列人反叛大卫家，一直到今天。以色列人听说耶罗波安回来了，就请他到会众面前，拥立他做以色列人的王。只有犹大支派仍然效忠大卫家。

他又在各城池加强防御，派将领驻守，供给食物、油和酒。他在城内储备盾牌和矛枪，使城池非常坚固。犹大和便雅悯都归属他。以色列全境的祭司和利未人都从四面八方来投奔罗波安。利未人撇下他们的草场和产业，来到犹大和耶路撒冷，因为耶罗波安和他的众子不准他们做祭司事奉耶和华。耶罗波安却为丘坛、公山羊像和他造的牛犊像设立他自己的祭司。以色列各支派中那些诚心寻求以色列的上帝耶和华的人，都跟随利未人到耶路撒冷献祭给他们祖先的上帝耶和华。他们使犹大国坚固，他们效忠所罗门的儿子罗波安三年之久，并在此期间遵行大卫和所罗门的道。

然而，有些亚设人、玛拿西人和西布伦人谦卑悔改，来到耶路撒冷。耶和华上帝感动犹大人，使他们一心遵从王与众官员奉祂的指示所下的命令。二月，大群的人聚到耶路撒冷守除酵节。他们除去耶路撒冷的祭坛和所有香坛，把它们丢进汲沦溪。二月十四日，他们宰了逾越节的羊羔。祭司和利未人觉得惭愧，就洁净自己，把燔祭带到耶和华的殿里，然后照上帝的仆人摩西的律法照常供职。祭司从利未人手中接过血，洒在坛上。因为会众中间有许多人没有洁净自己，利未人就为所有不洁之人宰逾越节的羊羔献给耶和华。有许多以法莲人、玛拿西人、以萨迦人和西布伦人没有洁净自己就吃了逾越节的羊羔，违背了律法的规定。希西迦就为他们祷告说：“凡诚心寻求他祖先的上帝耶和华的人，虽然没有照圣所的律例洁净自己，愿良善的耶和华赦免他！”
