Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that[ are] about you, they shall bear their shame.

所以主耶和華這樣說：我舉手起誓說：你們四圍的列國必親自擔當自己的羞辱。

故此主永恆主這麼說：我舉手來起誓說：你們四圍的外國人必定須自己擔受你們的羞辱。

主耶和華曰、我既舉手而言、爾四周之列邦、必負其辱、

主天主如是云、我發誓、爾四周之異邦人、必受辱蒙羞、

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I swear with uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.

So the Lord and King says,“ I raise my hand and make a promise. I promise that the nations around you will also be laughed at.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: I swear that the nations that are all around you shall themselves suffer reproach.

Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I have taken a solemn oath that those nations will soon have their own shame to endure.

Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD says: I swear that the nations all around you will endure their own insults.

Therefore the Lord God says this:‘ I have sworn that the nations that are around you will certainly endure their insults themselves.

Therefore thus says the Lord GOD:“ I have raised My hand in an oath that surely the nations that are around you shall bear their own shame.

therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I have sworn, saying, Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame.

Therefore this is what the Lord God says: I swear that the nations all around you will endure their own insults.

So this is what the sovereign LORD says: I vow that the nations around you will endure insults as well.

Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ I have sworn,‘ Surely the nations that are around you will bear their shame.’

And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known unto them in the land of Egypt, when I lifted up mine hand unto them, saying, I[ am] the LORD your God;

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couchingplace for flocks: and ye shall know that I[ am] the LORD.For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped[ thine] hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I[ am] the LORD.Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah[ is] like unto all the heathen;Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities[ which are] on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I[ am] the LORD.Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord GOD.Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy[ it] for the old hatred;Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I[ am] the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.Thus saith the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall howl.At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong[ horses], at the rushing of his chariots,[ and at] the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to[ their] children for feebleness of hands;Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines,[ and] to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off[ with] the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?O thou sword of the LORD, how long[ will it be] ere thou be quiet? put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD hath given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there hath he appointed it.

For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.

Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;Before the decree bring forth,[ before] the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you.Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD’S anger.For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD[ is] against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.And the sea coast shall be dwellings[ and] cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified[ themselves] against their border.Therefore[ as] I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah,[ even] the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified[ themselves] against the people of the LORD of hosts.The LORD[ will be] terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and[ men] shall worship him, every one from his place,[ even] all the isles of the heathen.Ye Ethiopians also, ye[ shall be] slain by my sword.And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation,[ and] dry like a wilderness.And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it;[ their] voice shall sing in the windows; desolation[ shall be] in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.This[ is] the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I[ am], and[ there is] none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss,[ and] wag his hand.

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.Then took I the cup at the LORD’S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:[ To wit], Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as[ it is] this day;Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which[ are] beyond the sea,Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all[ that are] in the utmost corners,And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which[ are] upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.

Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given[ them], flowing with milk and honey, which[ is] the glory of all lands;

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Benhadad.I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver[ them] up to Edom:But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away[ the punishment] thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
