彼至異邦、玩瀆我名、自稱耶和華之民、出於聖地、

彼至所往之異邦、使我聖名被褻瀆、蓋人指彼言、此乃耶和華之民、出於耶和華之地、

And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them,‘ These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’

They treated my name as if it were not holy. They did it everywhere they went among the nations. People said about them,‘ They are the Lord’ s people. But they were forced to leave his land.’

But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them,‘ These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had to go out of his land.’

But when they were scattered among the nations, they brought shame on my holy name. For the nations said,‘ These are the people of the Lord, but he couldn’t keep them safe in his own land!’

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name, because it was said about them,‘ These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave his land in exile.’

上帝的名在外邦人中因你們受了褻瀆，正如經上所記的。

我的百姓既是白白地被擄，如今我在這裏做甚麼呢？這是耶和華說的。轄制他們的人歡呼，我的名終日不斷受褻瀆，這是耶和華說的。

「你沒有留意這百姓所說的話嗎？他們說：『耶和華所揀選的二族，他已經棄絕了。』他們這樣藐視我的百姓，不把他們當作國來看待。

摩西就懇求耶和華－他的上帝，說：「耶和華啊，你為甚麼向你的百姓發烈怒呢？這百姓是你用大能大力的手從埃及地領出來的！為甚麼讓埃及人說：『他領他們出去，是要降災禍給他們，在山中把他們殺了，將他們從地上除滅』呢？求你回心轉意，不發你的烈怒，不降災禍給你的百姓。求你記念你的僕人亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列。你曾向他們指着自己起誓說：『我必使你們的後裔像天上的星那樣多，並且我要將所應許的這全地賜給你們的後裔，讓他們永遠承受為業。』」

迦南人和這地所有的居民聽見了就必圍困我們，把我們的名從地上除去。那時，你為你至大的名要怎樣做呢？」

我卻要留下他們當中幾個人得免刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫，使他們在所到的列國述說自己所做一切可憎的事；他們就知道我是耶和華。」

這些國的神明有誰曾救自己的國脫離我的手呢？難道耶和華能救耶路撒冷脫離我的手嗎？』」

不要聽憑希西家說服你們倚靠耶和華，他說，耶和華必要拯救我們，這城必不交在亞述王的手中。』

你若把這百姓殺了，好像殺一個人那樣，那聽見你名聲的列國必說：『耶和華因為不能把這百姓領進他向他們起誓應許之地，所以在曠野把他們殺了。』

現在，你們若準備好，一聽見角、號、琴、瑟、三角琴、鼓和各樣樂器的聲音，就俯伏拜我所造的像；若不下拜，必立刻扔在烈火的窰中，有哪一個神明能救你們脫離我的手呢？」

「你們要對猶大王希西家如此說：『不要聽你所倚靠的上帝欺哄你說：耶路撒冷必不交在亞述王的手中。看哪，你總聽說亞述諸王向列國所行的是盡行滅絕，難道你能倖免嗎？我祖先所毀滅的，就是歌散、哈蘭、利色和提‧拉撒的伊甸人；這些國的神明何曾拯救他們呢？
