彼至所往之異邦、使我聖名被褻瀆、蓋人指彼言、此乃耶和華之民、出於耶和華之地、

And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them,‘ These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’

They treated my name as if it were not holy. They did it everywhere they went among the nations. People said about them,‘ They are the Lord’ s people. But they were forced to leave his land.’

But when they came to the nations, wherever they came, they profaned my holy name, in that people said of them,‘ These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had to go out of his land.’

But when they were scattered among the nations, they brought shame on my holy name. For the nations said,‘ These are the people of the Lord, but he couldn’t keep them safe in his own land!’

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned my holy name, because it was said about them,‘ These are the people of the LORD, yet they had to leave his land in exile.’

When they came to the nations where they went, they profaned My holy name, because it was said of them,‘ These are the people of the Lord, yet they have left His land.’

When they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name— when they said of them,‘ These are the people of the Lord, and yet they have gone out of His land.’

For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written.

Now therefore, what have I here, saith the LORD, that my people is taken away for nought? they that rule over them make them to howl, saith the LORD; and my name continually every day[ is] blasphemed.

Considerest thou not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD hath chosen, he hath even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them.

And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit[ it] for ever.

For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear[ of it], and shall environ us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great name?

But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I[ am] the LORD.

Who[ are] they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of mine hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of mine hand?

Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Now[ if] thou shalt kill[ all] this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying,Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made;[ well]: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who[ is] that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly: and shalt thou be delivered?Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed;[ as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which[ were] in Thelasar?
