“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds, the leaders of Israel. Give them this message from the Sovereign Lord: What sorrow awaits you shepherds who feed yourselves instead of your flocks. Shouldn’t shepherds feed their sheep?

“人子啊，你要向以色列的牧人发预言，攻击他们，说，主耶和华如此说：祸哉！以色列的牧人只知牧养自己。牧人岂不当牧养群羊吗？

“人子啊，你要这样向以色列的牧人发预言，‘主耶和华说，以色列的牧人啊，你们有祸了！你们只顾喂养自己，牧人岂不应该照顾羊群吗？

“人子啊！你要说预言攻击以色列众牧者；你要对他们说预言：‘主耶和华这样说：以色列众牧者有祸了！他们只顾牧养自己。牧者岂不应当牧养羊群吗？

「人子啊，你要向以色列的牧人發預言，攻擊他們，說，主耶和華如此說：禍哉！以色列的牧人只知牧養自己。牧人豈不當牧養羣羊嗎？

「人子啊，你要向以色列的牧人說預言，對他們說，主耶和華如此說：禍哉！以色列的牧人只知牧養自己。牧人豈不當牧養羣羊嗎？

「人子啊，你要這樣向以色列的牧人發預言，『主耶和華說，以色列的牧人啊，你們有禍了！你們只顧餵養自己，牧人豈不應該照顧羊群嗎？

“人子啊！你要說預言攻擊以色列眾牧者；你要對他們說預言：‘主耶和華這樣說：以色列眾牧者有禍了！他們只顧牧養自己。牧者豈不應當牧養羊群嗎？

『人子啊，你要傳神言攻擊以色列的牧民者，要傳神言對牧民者說：主永恆主這麼說：有禍啊，以色列的牧民者，只知牧養自己的！牧人豈不應當牧養羣羊麼？

人子歟、當以預言責以色列之牧者曰、主耶和華云、以色列之牧者、自牧其身、其人禍哉、牧者豈不宜牧其羣羊乎、

人子、當傳我命、責以色列族之牧者曰、主耶和華云、以色列族之牧者、自顧其身、不牧群羊、禍必不遠矣。

人子、爾向向或作指以色列之牧者述預言、述預言告彼牧者曰、主天主如是云、以色列之牧者、惟知牧養己身、禍必臨之、牧者豈不當牧羊乎、

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them:‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Tell them,‘ The Lord and King says,“ How terrible it will be for you shepherds of Israel! You only take care of yourselves. You should take good care of your flocks.

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them, even to the shepherds, Thus says the Lord God: Ah, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding yourselves! Should not shepherds feed the sheep?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, who have been feeding themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed their flock?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy and say to those shepherds,‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should the shepherds not feed the flock?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds:“ Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, even to the shepherds, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe unto the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the sheep?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and say to them: This is what the Lord God says to the shepherds: Woe to the shepherds of Israel, who have been feeding themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed their flock?

Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto the shepherds; Woe[ be] to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy, and say to them– to the shepherds:‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not shepherds feed the flock?

“ Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel. Prophesy, and tell them, even the shepherds,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Shouldn’t the shepherds feed the sheep?

“ What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people— the shepherds of my sheep— for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the Lord.

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding.

He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.

As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, you abandoned my flock and left them to be attacked by every wild animal. And though you were my shepherds, you didn’t search for my sheep when they were lost. You took care of yourselves and left the sheep to starve.Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord.This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I now consider these shepherds my enemies, and I will hold them responsible for what has happened to my flock. I will take away their right to feed the flock, and I will stop them from feeding themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths; the sheep will no longer be their prey.

“ Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they like to parade around in flowing robes and love to receive respectful greetings as they walk in the marketplaces. And how they love the seats of honor in the synagogues and the head table at banquets.Yet they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property and then pretend to be pious by making long prayers in public. Because of this, they will be severely punished.”

In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.

He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants— God’s own people, Israel.He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

The shepherds of my people have lost their senses. They no longer seek wisdom from the Lord. Therefore, they fail completely, and their flocks are scattered.

“ What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye. His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind.”

You bring shame on me among my people for a few handfuls of barley or a piece of bread. By lying to my people who love to listen to lies, you kill those who should not die, and you promise life to those who should not live.

Such people are not serving Christ our Lord; they are serving their own personal interests. By smooth talk and glowing words they deceive innocent people.

After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter replied,“ you know I love you.”“ Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him.Jesus repeated the question:“ Simon son of John, do you love me?”“ Yes, Lord,” Peter said,“ you know I love you.”“ Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said.A third time he asked him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said,“ Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Then feed my sheep.

I know that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock.

“ Many rulers have ravaged my vineyard, trampling down the vines and turning all its beauty into a barren wilderness.

I declare today that I have been faithful. If anyone suffers eternal death, it’s not my fault,

Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly— not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God.Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example.And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never ending glory and honor.

The priests did not ask,‘ Where is the Lord?’ Those who taught my word ignored me, the rulers turned against me, and the prophets spoke in the name of Baal, wasting their time on worthless idols.

“ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.A hired hand will run when he sees a wolf coming. He will abandon the sheep because they don’t belong to him and he isn’t their shepherd. And so the wolf attacks them and scatters the flock.

You rulers make decisions based on bribes; you priests teach God’s laws only for a price; you prophets won’t prophesy unless you are paid. Yet all of you claim to depend on the Lord.“ No harm can come to us,” you say,“ for the Lord is here among us.”Because of you, Mount Zion will be plowed like an open field; Jerusalem will be reduced to ruins! A thicket will grow on the heights where the Temple now stands.

“ I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber!But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

Its leaders are like roaring lions hunting for their victims. Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time, who by dawn have left no trace of their prey.Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain. Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God’s instructions.

And the Lord replied,“ A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them.If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward.I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.But what if the servant thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’ and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful.

“ Son of man, the scattered remnants of Israel living among the ruined cities keep saying,‘ Abraham was only one man, yet he gained possession of the entire land. We are many; surely the land has been given to us as a possession.’

But what if the servant is evil and thinks,‘ My master won’t be back for a while,’and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk?The master will return unannounced and unexpected,and he will cut the servant to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Israel! You are supposed to know right from wrong,but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones.Yes, you eat my people’s flesh, strip off their skin, and break their bones. You chop them up like meat for the cooking pot.

In the past, when Saul was our king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the Lord told you,‘ You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be Israel’s leader.’”
