那日是永恆主震怒的日子，是急難窘迫的日子，是荒廢淒涼的日子，是黑暗墨黑的日子，是密雲暗霧的日子，

你們中間誰是敬畏永恆主、聽從他僕人之話的？誰是在黑暗中行，沒有亮光的、讓他倚靠永恆主的名，依賴他自己的上帝吧。

永恆主你們的上帝還未使黑暗來到，你們的腳還未在昏暗山上碰跌之先，當你們盼望有光之時，他使光變為漆黑，使光成為幽暗之先，你們要承認榮耀屬於永恆主你們的上帝。

那渴望着永恆主之日子的有禍啊！你們為甚麼要永恆主的日子呢？那日子究竟是黑暗，不是亮光呀：就像人躲避了獅子，卻遇見了熊；進了屋子，手靠着牆，卻給蛇咬了。永恆主的日子不是黑暗、沒有亮光麼？不是幽暗、毫無光輝麼？

我必顯出奇事在上天、神迹在下地，有血、火、與煙霧；日頭必變成黑暗，月亮必變成血，在主的日子、大而顯赫之日、未到以前。那時凡呼求主名的、就必得救。」

在錫安吹號角哦！在我的聖山大聲吹哦！讓國中的居民都戰抖哦，因為永恆主的日子快到了，已經臨近了。一個黑暗墨黑的日子，一個密雲暗霧的日子，像烏黑鋪滿着山嶺的是一團隊蝗蟲、又大又強盛；從來沒有這樣的，以後也不會再有，直到萬代萬年。牠們前面像火燒滅着，牠們過後像火燄燒過；未到以前、地像伊甸園，過去以後、地成了荒涼曠野；唉啊，沒有一樣能逃脫了牠們的。
