因为日子近了，耶和华的日子近了，那是乌云密布的日子，列国沦亡的时候。

趁着你们的上帝耶和华还未使黑暗来临，你们还未在漆黑的山上绊倒，要把荣耀归给祂。否则，祂必使你们期望的光明变为幽冥和黑暗。

盼望耶和华的日子到来的人有祸了！你们为什么盼望耶和华的日子呢？那日将带来黑暗，而非光明。你们的光景将好像人逃避狮子，却遇上了熊，逃回家里，手扶墙壁，又被蛇咬。耶和华的日子将充满黑暗，毫无光明，一片漆黑，毫无亮光。

在天上，我要显异兆；在地上，我要行神迹，有血、有火、有浓烟。太阳要变得昏暗，月亮要变得血红。这都要发生在主伟大荣耀的日子来临以前。那时，凡求告主名的，都必得救。’

你们要在锡安吹响号角，在我的圣山上发出警讯，地上的居民都要战抖，因为耶和华的日子将要来临，已经近了。那将是乌云密布、天昏地暗的日子。来了一支空前绝后、强盛无比的蝗虫大军，它们像曙光一样布满山头。它们的前队如火燎原，后队如熊熊烈焰。它们未到以前，大地美得像伊甸园；它们过去之后，大地变成一片荒场。地上的一切都逃不过这一场浩劫。

大卫说：“我一直替父亲放羊，有时候狮子或熊会从羊群中叼走羊，我会去追打它，把羊从它口中救出来。如果它起来攻击我，我就揪着它的胡子把它打死。
