因著信，挪亞在還沒有看見的事上，得了神的警告，就動了敬畏的心，做了一艘方舟，使他全家得救。藉著這信心，他就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那因信而來的義。

因此，我們必須更加密切注意所聽過的道理，免得我們隨流失去。那透過天使所傳講的信息既然是確定的，所有干犯和不聽從的，都受了應得的報應。如果我們忽略了這麼大的救恩，怎麼能逃罪呢？這救恩起初是由主親自宣講的，後來聽見的人給我們證實了。

因為他是我們的神，我們是他草場上的子民，是他手下的羊群。如果你們今天聽從他的聲音，

你們要瞻仰你們的祖宗亞伯拉罕，他們也要瞻仰那生你們的撒拉。亞伯拉罕獨自一人的時候，我呼召了他，賜福給他，使他有很多子孫。

他們聽了以後，覺得扎心，就對彼得和其餘的使徒說：“弟兄們，我們應當作甚麼呢？”彼得說：“你們應當悔改，並且每一個人都要奉耶穌基督的名受洗，使你們的罪得赦，就必領受聖靈，那白白的恩典。這應許原是給你們和你們的兒女，以及所有在遠方的人，就是給凡是我們主神召來歸他的人。”彼得還用許多別的話，鄭重作證，並且勸勉他們，說：“你們應當救自己脫離這彎曲的世代！”於是接受他話的人都受了洗，那一天門徒增加了約三千人。

他們說：“我們的祖宗是亞伯拉罕。”耶穌說：“你們若是亞伯拉罕的子孫，就必作亞伯拉罕所作的。

以色列王派人到那地方，就是神人曾告訴他，警告他的，他就在那裡小心防範；這樣不止一兩次。
