then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head.

Someone hears the trumpet. But they do not pay any attention to the warning. The enemies come and kill them. Then what happens to them will be their own fault.

Then if those who hear the alarm refuse to take action, it is their own fault if they die.

I set watchmen over you, saying,‘ Pay attention to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said,‘ We will not pay attention.’

And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, that person shall die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul.

“ The Lord was very angry with your fathers.Therefore say to them, Thus declares the Lord of hosts: Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts.Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried out,‘ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Return from your evil ways and from your evil deeds.’ But they did not hear or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.

He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life.

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all,

that you have gone astray at the cost of your lives. For you sent me to the Lord your God, saying,‘ Pray for us to the Lord our God, and whatever the Lord our God says, declare to us and we will do it.’And I have this day declared it to you, but you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord your God in anything that he sent me to tell you.Now therefore know for a certainty that you shall die by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence in the place where you desire to go to live.”

For on the day you go out and cross the brook Kidron, know for certain that you shall die. Your blood shall be on your own head.”

For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.

If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them.If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.If a man takes a woman and her mother also, it is depravity; he and they shall be burned with fire, that there may be no depravity among you.If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.If a woman approaches any animal and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.“ If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace, and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness, and he shall bear his iniquity.If a man lies with a woman during her menstrual period and uncovers her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from among their people.You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or of your father’s sister, for that is to make naked one’s relative; they shall bear their iniquity.If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is impurity. He has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.“ You shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my rules and do them, that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation that I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I detested them.But I have said to you,‘ You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the peoples.You shall therefore separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the unclean bird from the clean. You shall not make yourselves detestable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground crawls, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean.You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.“ A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.”

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck, will suddenly be broken beyond healing.

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

And David said to him,“ Your blood be on your head, for your own mouth has testified against you, saying,‘ I have killed the Lord’s anointed.’”
