My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.

My people come to you, just as they usually do. They sit in front of you. They hear what you say. But they do not put it into practice. With their mouths they say they love me. But in their hearts they want what belongs to others. They try to get rich by cheating them.

And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.

So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money.

So my people come to you in crowds, sit in front of you, and hear your words, but they don’t obey them. Their mouths go on passionately, but their hearts pursue dishonest profit.

And they come to you as people come, and sit before you as My people and hear your words, but they do not do them; for they do the lustful desires expressed by their mouth, and their heart follows their unlawful gain.

So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

So My people come to you in crowds, sit in front of you, and hear your words, but they don’t obey them. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue dishonest profit.

播於棘中者、猶人聽道、此世之憧擾、貨財之迷惑、蔽其道而不實、

仍進以甘言、貢以媚詞兮、其心未正、其意未誠、不守前約兮、

主曰、斯民以口舌附我、言則敬我、而心則遠我、其敬畏我者、苟隨流俗而已。

不第聞道已也、實踐之、毋自欺、聞而不行者、譬人以鏡鑒面、過此以往、其形容若何、遂忘之矣、

兄弟乎、人言信主而不行善、何益之有、第信不行、豈能得救乎、兄弟姊妹、衣食匱乏、而爾曰、安然以往、願爾得溫飽、如不以彼所需賜之、何益之有、

耶穌曰、未若聽上帝道而守之者為有福、○

譬諸建屋、掘而深之、置基磐上、洪水氾濫、橫流衝屋、不能震動、以基磐上也、惟聞而不行者、譬諸無基、而建屋土上、橫流衝之、遂以傾圮、而屋之頹壞者大也、

約雅斤被擄之六年、六月五日、我坐於室、猶大長老坐於前、主耶和華之神感予、

故我言耶和華之道、所以重叠、諄諄不已、分疏句讀、詳以相告也、維彼聽我藐藐、自取顛躓、陷於坎阱、

人有恆產、見兄弟匱乏、而不開誠施與、烏能愛上帝哉、小子相愛、勿口尚虛詞、必行期實踐、

苟圖富有、陷誘惑、罹羅網、溺於無理有害之欲、終必沉淪、好利為萬惡根、有人慕之、則背於道、以多苦自刺、

當日爾所言耶和華聽之、諭我曰、斯民所言、我聞之矣、其言甚善、願其常存此心畏我、恆守我誡命、永能受福、爰及子孫。

少者聞言、愀然而去、貲厚故也、○

以色列長老數人、咸來詣我、坐於我前。

約雅斤被擄之七年、五月十日、以色列族長老數人咸集、諮諏耶和華、坐於我前、耶和華諭我曰、人子、當告以色列族長老、云、主耶和華曰、爾來諮諏於我、我指己而誓、不許爾與我言。人子、爾當責之、使知自昔以來、彼祖所作、我已痛疾。爾當告之云、主耶和華曰、越在疇昔、我顯現於埃及、遴選以色列族雅各家、與之盟誓、曰、我耶和華、為爾之上帝、既立盟誓、導爾祖出埃及、至產乳與蜜之地、其地為列國所羨美、我素所選者、斯時我諭之曰、我乃耶和華、爾之上帝、爾當棄可惡之物、勿因埃及之偶像、自染污衊、惟彼違逆、不從我命、不棄可惡之物、不毀埃及之偶像、故爾祖尚在埃及時、我已憤怒甚烈、欲降災其躬、恐列國之民、以我為無能、為藐視我名、故我顯現、導之出埃及、入於曠野、使列國人目睹。

一人事二主者、未之有也、或惡此愛彼、或重此輕彼、爾不能事上帝、又事財貨也、

遂謂眾曰、慎戒勿貪、蓋人之生、不在所蓄之贏餘也、○遂設譬曰、有富人、土地蕃殖、慮曰、我有物產、無處可儲、將若何、又曰、必毀我倉、建其大者、以儲百穀貨物、如此其可也、乃自謂曰、我有多物、積為歷年之用、此心可安然飲食喜樂也、上帝曰、無知者乎、今夜將索爾魂、則所備者誰歸、凡積財於己、而上帝前不富有者、亦如是、○

耶穌謂眾曰、吾母及兄弟、乃聽上帝道、而行之者也、○

耶利米以上帝耶和華所遣諭民之事宣言既竟、何沙雅子亞薩哩亞、迦哩亞子約哈難、及驕侈之士、告耶利米曰、爾出言妄誕、我之上帝耶和華未嘗遣爾、告我云、勿往居埃及、爾為尼利亞子巴錄所慫慂、加害乎我、付我於迦勒底人手、或見殺、或被虜、至巴比倫。迦哩亞子約哈難、與武士長、庶民、不聽耶和華命、不居猶大、率猶大遺民、乃昔驅至列邦而歸、欲居猶大地者、

其姊妹馬利亞、坐耶穌足下、聽道、

耶和華曰、如斯民、或先知、或祭司詰爾曰、耶和華有何默示、可譬重任、爾必曰、尚有何詞、比諸重任。惟耶和華棄爾如遺。凡先知祭司庶民、以耶和華默示為重任、而譏之者、我必降災於其家。爾當問於兄弟鄰里、耶和華有何言答我。爾勿以萬有之主、永生上帝耶和華之言、戲稱重任、若是則爾所言、亦為重任。爾問先知、當問耶和華、有何默示、誠以告我。我既命爾、不可以耶和華默示為重任、知爾以此稱之、

邑中之牧伯若狼、行其殘害、肆其吞噬、以獲不義之利。

耶和華曰、當立道旁、訪其舊途、正直者履之、可得平康、人曰、余不欲正直是履。我置邏卒、使聽角聲、民曰、我不欲聞。

𠵽唎㘔之好利者、聞斯言、哂之、

聞吾言而行之者、譬彼智人、建屋磐上、雨降潦行、風吹撞屋、而不傾覆、因基磐上、聞吾言而不行者、譬彼愚人、建屋沙上、雨降潦行、風吹撞屋、遂以傾覆、而傾覆者大也、○

故我遣人請爾、爾來甚善、今我咸在上帝前、願聞上帝所命爾者、○

爾藉耶和華名、傳諭於我、我不聽從、

爾知貪婪與拜偶像者、一也、其與淫行、污穢、皆不得基督及上帝國、
