我對義人說：『你必存活！』他若倚靠自己的義作惡，所行的義就不被記念；他必因所作的惡死亡。

我对义人说：‘你必定存活！’他若倚靠他的义而作罪孽，他所行的义都不被记念。他必因所作的罪孽死亡。

我对义人说：‘你必存活！’他若倚靠自己的义作恶，所行的义就不被记念；他必因所作的恶死亡。

我虽对义人说他必能存活，但如果他仗着自己的义而犯罪，他的义将不会被记念，他必因犯罪而死亡。

我虽然对义人说他必定生存，但是他若恃着自己的义而行恶，他的一切义都必不被记念；他必因所行的恶死亡。

我雖指着義人說他必定活着，然而他若倚靠他的義而行罪孽的事，他所行的義也都不被記得；他一定會因所行罪孽的事而死亡。

我謂義人必生、如彼自恃其義而行惡、則其義行、俱不見憶、必死於其所犯之罪、

我言善人必生、如彼自恃其善、陷罪觸法、則其前善、必不復憶、因其作惡、必置之死、

我言善人必生、如彼自恃其善而行惡、則其諸善不復記憶、必因所作之惡死亡、

If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their righteousness and do evil, none of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered; they will die for the evil they have done.

Suppose I tell a godly person that they will live. And they trust in the fact that they used to do what is right. But now they do what is evil. Then I will not remember any of the right things they have done. They will die because they have done so many evil things.

Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die.

When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins.

When I tell the righteous person that he will surely live, but he trusts in his righteousness and acts unjustly, then none of his righteousness will be remembered, and he will die because of the injustice he has committed.

When I say to the righteous that he will certainly live, and he so trusts in his righteousness that he commits injustice, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but for that same injustice of his which he has committed he will die.

When I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, but he trusts in his own righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteous works shall be remembered; but because of the iniquity that he has committed, he shall die.

When I say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he hath committed, therein shall he die.

When I tell the righteous person that he will surely live, but he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, then none of his righteousness will be remembered, and he will die because of the iniquity he has committed.

When I shall say to the righteous,[ that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.

Suppose I tell the righteous that he will certainly live, but he becomes confident in his righteousness and commits iniquity. None of his righteous deeds will be remembered; because of the iniquity he has committed he will die.

When I tell the righteous that he will surely live; if he trusts in his righteousness, and commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but he will die in his iniquity that he has committed.

至於義人，他若轉離義行而作惡，照着惡人所做一切可憎的事去做，豈能存活呢？他所行的一切義都不被記念；反而因所行的惡、所犯的罪死亡。

只是我的義人必因信得生；他若退縮，我心就不喜歡他。」

因為不明白神的義，想要立自己的義，他們就不服神的義了。

倘若他們因認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督而得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又被污穢纏住，被制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們知道義路，竟背棄了傳授給他們那神聖的誡命，倒不如不知道為妙。俗語說得好，這話正印證在他們身上了：「狗轉過來吃自己所吐的；」又說：「豬洗淨了，又回到爛泥裏打滾。」

看哪，所有的生命都是屬我的；父親的生命怎樣屬我，兒子的生命也照樣屬我；然而犯罪的，他必定死。

並且得以在他裏面，不是有自己因律法而得的義，而是有信基督的義，就是基於信，從神而來的義，

耶穌向那些自以為義而藐視別人的人講了這比喻：「有兩個人上聖殿去禱告，一個是法利賽人，一個是稅吏。法利賽人獨自站着，自言自語地禱告說：『神啊，我感謝你，我不像別人勒索、不義、姦淫，也不像這個稅吏。我每週禁食兩次，凡我所得的都獻上十分之一。』那稅吏遠遠地站着，連舉目望天也不敢，只捶着胸，說：『神啊，開恩可憐我這個罪人！』我告訴你們，這人回家去比那人倒算為義了。因為凡自高的，必降為卑；自甘卑微的，必升為高。」

但是義人若轉離他的義而作惡，我要把絆腳石放在他面前，他必死亡；因你沒有警戒他，他必死在罪中，他素來所行的義不被記念；我卻要從你手裏討他的血債。

他們從我們中間出去，卻不是屬我們的，若是屬我們的，就必仍舊與我們同在。他們出去，這就顯明他們都不是屬我們的。
