“ Son of man, raise a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“ You consider yourself a lion of the nations, but you are like a dragon in the seas; you burst forth in your rivers, trouble the waters with your feet, and foul their rivers.

“人子啊，你要为埃及王法老唱哀歌，对他说，“‘你自认为是列邦中的雄狮，其实你像激荡江河、用脚把江河搅浑的海怪。

“人子啊！你要为埃及王法老作一首哀歌，对他说：‘你像列国中的少壮狮子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻腾，用你的爪搅动河水，使江河浑浊。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老作哀歌，說：從前你在列國中，如同少壯獅子；現在你卻像海中的大魚。你衝出江河，用爪攪動諸水，使江河渾濁。

「人子啊，你要為埃及王法老唱哀歌，對他說，『你自認為是列邦中的雄獅，其實你像激蕩江河、用腳把江河攪渾的海怪。

“人子啊！你要為埃及王法老作一首哀歌，對他說：‘你像列國中的少壯獅子，又像海中的海怪，你在河中翻騰，用你的爪攪動河水，使江河渾濁。

『人子啊，你要為埃及王舉哀唱歌，對他說：『列國中的少壯獅子啊，你可完啦！你，你像海中的鱷魚；卻在你的江河裏衝激着，用你的腳攪濁了水，踹渾了眾水的江河。

人子歟、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、謂曰、爾於列國中、昔若壯獅、今若海中之鱷、衝突於爾河、以足攪水、使河渾濁、

人子、當為埃及王法老作哀歌、告之曰爾若獅之伏於民間、若鱷之居於海中、出入江河、足亂波濤、使水混濁、

“ Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him:“‘ You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.

“ Son of man, sing a song of sadness about Pharaoh Hophra, the king of Egypt. Tell him,“‘ You are like a lion among the nations. You are like a monster in the sea. You move around wildly in your rivers. You churn the water with your feet. You make the streams muddy.’ ”

“ Son of man, mourn for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and give him this message:“ You think of yourself as a strong young lion among the nations, but you are really just a sea monster, heaving around in your own rivers, stirring up mud with your feet.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him,‘ You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.

“ Son of man, take up a song of mourning over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him,‘ You compared yourself to a young lion of the nations, Yet you are like the monster in the seas; And you burst forth in your rivers And muddied the waters with your feet And fouled their rivers.’ ”

“ Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:‘ You are like a young lion among the nations, And you are like a monster in the seas, Bursting forth in your rivers, Troubling the waters with your feet, And fouling their rivers.

Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou wast likened unto a young lion of the nations: yet art thou as a monster in the seas; and thou didst break forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

“ Son of man, lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: You compare yourself to a lion of the nations, but you are like a monster in the seas. You thrash about in your rivers, churn up the waters with your feet, and muddy the rivers.”

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art like a young lion of the nations, and thou[ art] as a whale in the seas: and thou camest forth with thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

“ Son of man, sing a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him:“‘ You were like a lion among the nations, but you are a monster in the seas; you thrash about in your streams, stir up the water with your feet, and muddy your streams.

‘ Son of man, take up a lamentation over Pharaoh king of Egypt, and tell him,“ You were likened to a young lion of the nations; yet you are as a monster in the seas. You broke out with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.”

speak, and say, Thus says the Lord God:“ Behold, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lies in the midst of his streams, that says,‘ My Nile is my own; I made it for myself.’

“ Now you, son of man, raise a lamentation over Tyre,

Where is the lions’ den, the feeding place of the young lions, where the lion and lioness went, where his cubs were, with none to disturb?The lion tore enough for his cubs and strangled prey for his lionesses; he filled his caves with prey and his dens with torn flesh.Behold, I am against you, declares the Lord of hosts, and I will burn your chariots in smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions. I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no longer be heard.

Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture; and to drink of clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet?

“ Son of man, raise a lamentation over the king of Tyre, and say to him, Thus says the Lord God:“ You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

This is a lamentation that shall be chanted; the daughters of the nations shall chant it; over Egypt, and over all her multitude, shall they chant it, declares the Lord God.”

In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea.

And you, take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,and say: What was your mother? A lioness! Among lions she crouched; in the midst of young lions she reared her cubs.And she brought up one of her cubs; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch prey; he devoured men.The nations heard about him; he was caught in their pit, and they brought him with hooks to the land of Egypt.When she saw that she waited in vain, that her hope was lost, she took another of her cubs and made him a young lion.He prowled among the lions; he became a young lion, and he learned to catch prey; he devoured men,

Sheba and Dedan and the merchants of Tarshish and all its leaders will say to you,‘ Have you come to seize spoil? Have you assembled your hosts to carry off plunder, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to seize great spoil?’

A lion has gone up from his thicket, a destroyer of nations has set out; he has gone out from his place to make your land a waste; your cities will be ruins without inhabitant.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?

In their wailing they raise a lamentation for you and lament over you:‘ Who is like Tyre, like one destroyed in the midst of the sea?

“ Son of man, wail over the multitude of Egypt, and send them down, her and the daughters of majestic nations, to the world below, to those who have gone down to the pit:

Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him?

let them make haste and raise a wailing over us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids flow with water.

He crouched, he lay down like a lion and like a lioness; who will rouse him up? Blessed are those who bless you, and cursed are those who curse you.”

Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

You divided the sea by your might; you broke the heads of the sea monsters on the waters.You crushed the heads of Leviathan; you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.

Egypt rises like the Nile, like rivers whose waters surge. He said,‘ I will rise, I will cover the earth, I will destroy cities and their inhabitants.’
