都為的是要使水旁的眾樹、樹身都不高聳，不將其樹梢挺立入於雲霄間，只要使凡所有得水滋潤的樹都不屹立於高聳中；因為他們都被交於死亡，交於地府之最低處、在人類中間、到那些下冥坑的人那裏。

使水濱諸木、不誇其崇高、其杪不入雲中、得灌溉之強者、不復聳立、俱必死亡、偃於下土、至歸墓之人中、○

使天下林木、植於水旁、勿誇其株高幹偉、枝葉蓁蓁、喬木森然、終必枯萎、偃於下土、與人之歸墓無異、

使水旁之諸樹、不復高大、不復枝葉茂盛、巔頂崇高、不復因崇高、使彼得灌溉之群樹、立於四周、因俱必枯而死、偃於地之深處、與人之下墓無異、

Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well- watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead.

So trees that receive plenty of water must never grow so high that it makes them proud. Their tops must never be above the rest of the leaves. No other trees that receive a lot of water must ever grow that high. They are appointed to die and go down into the earth below. They will join human beings, who go down to the place of the dead.”

All this is in order that no trees by the waters may grow to towering height or set their tops among the clouds, and that no trees that drink water may reach up to them in height. For they are all given over to death, to the world below, among the children of man, with those who go down to the pit.

Let the tree of no other nation proudly exult in its own prosperity, though it be higher than the clouds and it be watered from the depths. For all are doomed to die, to go down to the depths of the earth. They will land in the pit along with everyone else on earth.

This happened so that no trees planted beside water would become great in height and set their tops among the clouds, and so that no other well-watered trees would reach them in height. For they have all been consigned to death, to the underworld, among the people who descend to the Pit.

so that all the trees by the waters will not be exalted in their stature, nor put their tops among the clouds, nor will any of their well watered mighty ones stand straight in their height. For they have all been turned over to death, to the earth beneath, among mankind, with those who go down to the pit.”

按著定命，人人都有一死，死後還有審判。

你們的祖先難道不是犯了這樣的罪，以致我們的上帝使一切災禍臨到我們和這城嗎？如今你們干犯安息日，使上帝的憤怒更多地臨到以色列。」

發生在他們身上的這些事都是鑑戒，之所以記錄下來是為了警戒我們這活在末世的人。

上帝也審判了所多瑪和蛾摩拉，將二城毀滅，燒為灰燼，作為以後不敬虔之人的警戒。

全城的人都要用石頭打死他，從你們中間除掉這種罪惡。所有以色列人聽說後，都會感到害怕。

這樣，所有以色列人聽了就會害怕，必無人再敢做這種惡事。

你必從人群中被趕走，與野獸同住，像牛一樣吃草，達七年之久，直到你知道至高者主宰世上萬國，祂要把國賜給誰就賜給誰。」

那些圖謀毀滅我的人必下到陰間。他們必喪身刀下，成為豺狼的食物。

「伯沙撒啊，你是他的後裔，你雖然知道這一切事，仍不謙卑，竟在天上的主面前自大，命人拿來祂殿裡的器皿，供你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用來飲酒，並頌讚不能看、不能聽、一無所知、用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神明，卻不尊崇賜你生命氣息、掌管你一舉一動的上帝。

「『伊甸園的樹木中，誰能與你的威榮相比呢？然而你卻要與伊甸園的樹木一同下到陰間，躺臥在未受割禮的人當中，與被殺的人在一起。「『這就是法老和他百姓的結局。這是主耶和華說的。』」
