‘ Thus says the Lord GOD:“ I will also destroy the idols, And cause the images to cease from Noph; There shall no longer be princes from the land of Egypt; I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

「主耶和華說，『我要毀滅偶像，剷除挪弗的神像。埃及再沒有君王，國內到處充滿恐懼。

主耶和華這樣說：“‘我必毀滅偶像，使虛無的神像從挪弗滅絕。必不再有君王從埃及地而出；我也必使懼怕臨到埃及地。

『主永恆主這麼說：我必毁滅偶像，必從挪弗使佛相滅絕：必不再有人君出自埃及地；我必將懼怕放於埃及地境內。

主耶和華曰、我必毀其偶像、絕其神像於挪弗、埃及不復有君、其地震驚、我使之然、

主耶和華又曰、我必斫其偶像、使不存於挪弗、埃及無君、庶民恐懼、

主天主如是云、我必毀滅偶像、自挪弗剿除神像、使伊及不復有君、使伊及人民、無不恐懼、

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land.

The Lord and King says,“ I will destroy the statues of Egypt’s gods. I will put an end to the gods the people in Memphis worship. Egypt will not have princes anymore. I will spread fear all through the land.

“ Thus says the Lord God:“ I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis; there shall no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

“ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will smash the idols of Egypt and the images at Memphis. There will be no rulers left in Egypt; terror will sweep the land.

“‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I will destroy the worthless idols and put an end to the false gods in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt. And I will instill fear in that land.

‘ This is what the Lord God says:“ I will also destroy the idols And make the images cease from Memphis. And there will no longer be a prince in the land of Egypt; And I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis; and there shall be no more a prince from the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

This is what the Lord God says: I will destroy the idols and put an end to the false gods in Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt. So I will instill fear in that land.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause[ their] images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

“‘ This is what the sovereign LORD says: I will destroy the idols, and put an end to the gods of Memphis. There will no longer be a prince from the land of Egypt; so I will make the land of Egypt fearful.

“‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause the images to cease from Memphis. There will be no more a prince from the land of Egypt. I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.

He shall pass through the sea with affliction, And strike the waves of the sea: All the depths of the River shall dry up. Then the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, And the scepter of Egypt shall depart.

“ Declare in Egypt, and proclaim in Migdol; Proclaim in Noph and in Tahpanhes; Say,‘ stand fast and prepare yourselves, For the sword devours all around you.’

Also the people of Noph and Tahpanhes Have broken the crown of your head.

The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, says:“ Behold, I will bring punishment on Amon of No, and Pharaoh and Egypt, with their gods and their kings— Pharaoh and those who trust in him.

Why have I seen them dismayed and turned back? Their mighty ones are beaten down; They have speedily fled, And did not look back, For fear was all around,” says the Lord.

‘ For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

The burden against Egypt. Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud, And will come into Egypt; The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence, And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.“ I will set Egyptians against Egyptians; Everyone will fight against his brother, And everyone against his neighbor, City against city, kingdom against kingdom.The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers.And the Egyptians I will give Into the hand of a cruel master, And a fierce king will rule over them,” Says the Lord, the Lord of hosts.The waters will fail from the sea, And the river will be wasted and dried up.The rivers will turn foul; The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; The reeds and rushes will wither.The papyrus reeds by the River, by the mouth of the River, And everything sown by the River, Will wither, be driven away, and be no more.The fishermen also will mourn; All those will lament who cast hooks into the River, And they will languish who spread nets on the waters.Moreover those who work in fine flax And those who weave fine fabric will be ashamed;And its foundations will be broken. All who make wages will be troubled of soul.Surely the princes of Zoan are fools; Pharaoh’s wise counselors give foolish counsel. How do you say to Pharaoh,“ I am the son of the wise, The son of ancient kings?”Where are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, And let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.The princes of Zoan have become fools; The princes of Noph are deceived; They have also deluded Egypt, Those who are the mainstay of its tribes.The Lord has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst; And they have caused Egypt to err in all her work, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit.Neither will there be any work for Egypt, Which the head or tail, Palm branch or bulrush, may do.In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which He waves over it.

For indeed they are gone because of destruction. Egypt shall gather them up; Memphis shall bury them. Nettles shall possess their valuables of silver; Thorns shall be in their tents.

“ It shall be in that day,” says the Lord of hosts,“ that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they shall no longer be remembered. I will also cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to depart from the land.

I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive. And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment, and he shall go out from there in peace.He shall also break the sacred pillars of Beth Shemesh that are in the land of Egypt; and the houses of the gods of the Egyptians he shall burn with fire.”’”The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, who dwell at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

The Lord will be awesome to them, For He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth; People shall worship Him, Each one from his place, Indeed all the shores of the nations.

I will bring back the captives of Egypt and cause them to return to the land of Pathros, to the land of their origin, and there they shall be a lowly kingdom.It shall be the lowliest of kingdoms; it shall never again exalt itself above the nations, for I will diminish them so that they will not rule over the nations anymore.
