But the people of Israel are not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for all the Israelites are hardened and obstinate.

But the people of Israel do not want to listen to you. That is because they do not want to listen to me. All the Israelites are very stubborn.

But the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, for they are not willing to listen to me: because all the house of Israel have a hard forehead and a stubborn heart.

But the people of Israel won’t listen to you any more than they listen to me! For the whole lot of them are hard hearted and stubborn.

But the house of Israel will not want to listen to you because they do not want to listen to me. For the whole house of Israel is hardheaded and hardhearted.

耶和华对撒母耳说：“你就听从民众对你说的一切话。其实他们不是厌弃你，而是厌弃我作他们的王。

他们脸上的表情证实自己的不是；他们像所多玛那样公然显露自己的罪；他们毫不隐藏。他们有祸了，因为他们为自己招来了灾祸。

“他本国的人却憎恨他，就差派特使在他背后去，说：‘我们不要这个人做王统治我们。’

“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷！这城杀害先知们，又用石头砸死被差到她这里的人！我多次想聚集你的儿女，像母鸡把自己的小鸡聚集在翅膀下，可是你们不愿意！

你们当记住我对你们说过的话：“没有一个奴仆大过他的主人。”他们既然逼迫了我，也会逼迫你们；如果他们遵守了我的话，也就会遵守你们的话。但是，因我名的缘故，他们会对你们做这一切事，因为他们不认识派我来的那一位。如果我没有来，也没有教导他们，他们就没有罪；但如今，他们的罪无可推诿了。恨我的，也恨我的父。如果我没有在他们当中做别人从未做过的事，他们就没有罪；但如今他们虽然看到了，还是恨我和我的父。

可是你们不肯到我这里来得生命。“我不接受从人而来的荣耀。不过我了解你们，你们里面没有属神的爱。我奉我父的名来了，你们却不接受我；如果有别人奉自己的名而来，你们倒会接受他。你们彼此接受荣耀，却不寻求从独一的神而来的荣耀，那怎么能信呢？不要以为我将要在父面前控告你们，有一位控告你们的，就是你们所仰赖的摩西。事实上，如果你们信摩西，就会信我，因为他写了关于我的事；如果你们不相信他所写的，又怎么会相信我的话呢？”

“听从你们的，就是听从我；拒绝你们的，就是拒绝我；拒绝我的，就是拒绝差派我来的那一位。”
