現在你們給我找一個彈琴的來。」彈琴的時候，耶和華的靈就降在以利沙身上。

在迦勒底人之地、迦巴魯河邊，耶和華的話特特臨到布西的兒子祭司以西結；耶和華的靈降在他身上。

願我生的那日受咒詛；願我母親產我的那日不蒙福！給我父親報信說「你得了兒子」，使我父親甚歡喜的，願那人受咒詛。願那人像耶和華所傾覆而不後悔的城邑；願他早晨聽見哀聲，晌午聽見吶喊；因他在我未出胎的時候不殺我，使我母親成了我的墳墓，胎就時常重大。我為何出胎見勞碌愁苦，使我的年日因羞愧消滅呢？

耶和華啊，你曾勸導我，我也聽了你的勸導。你比我有力量，且勝了我。我終日成為笑話，人人都戲弄我。我每逢講論的時候，就發出哀聲，我喊叫說：有強暴和毀滅！因為耶和華的話終日成了我的凌辱、譏刺。我若說：我不再提耶和華，也不再奉他的名講論，我便心裏覺得似乎有燒着的火閉塞在我骨中，我就含忍不住，不能自禁。

耶和華的靈降在以利亞身上，他就束上腰，奔在亞哈前頭，直到耶斯列的城門。

他就離了猶太，又往加利利去。

主知道法利賽人聽見他收門徒，施洗，比約翰還多，（

對他說：「僕人們這裏有五十個壯士，求你容他們去尋找你師傅，或者耶和華的靈將他提起來，投在某山某谷。」以利沙說：「你們不必打發人去。」

第六年六月初五日，我坐在家中；猶大的眾長老坐在我面前。在那裏主耶和華的靈降在我身上。

撒馬利亞的婦人對他說：「你既是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒馬利亞婦人要水喝呢？」原來猶太人和撒馬利亞人沒有來往。

摩西對耶和華說：「你為何苦待僕人？我為何不在你眼前蒙恩，竟把這管理百姓的重任加在我身上呢？這百姓豈是我懷的胎，豈是我生下來的呢？你竟對我說：『把他們抱在懷裏，如養育之父抱吃奶的孩子，直抱到你起誓應許給他們祖宗的地去。』我從哪裏得肉給這百姓吃呢？他們都向我哭號說：『你給我們肉吃吧！』管理這百姓的責任太重了，我獨自擔當不起。你這樣待我，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你立時將我殺了，不叫我見自己的苦情。」耶和華對摩西說：「你從以色列的長老中招聚七十個人，就是你所知道作百姓的長老和官長的，到我這裏來，領他們到會幕前，使他們和你一同站立。我要在那裏降臨，與你說話，也要把降於你身上的靈分賜他們，他們就和你同當這管百姓的重任，免得你獨自擔當。又要對百姓說：『你們應當自潔，預備明天吃肉，因為你們哭號說：誰給我們肉吃！我們在埃及很好。這聲音達到了耶和華的耳中，所以他必給你們肉吃。你們不止吃一天、兩天、五天、十天、二十天，

那時，靈將我舉起，我就聽見在我身後有震動轟轟的聲音，說：「從耶和華的所在顯出來的榮耀是該稱頌的！」

因此我被耶和華的忿怒充滿，難以含忍。我要傾在街中的孩童和聚會的少年人身上，連夫帶妻，並年老的與日子滿足的都必被擒拿。
