“ Yet the children of your people say,‘ The way of the Lord is not fair.’ But it is their way which is not fair!

As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse— for they are a rebellious house— yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.

“ Therefore you, O son of man, say to the children of your people:‘ The righteousness of the righteous man shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression; as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall because of it in the day that he turns from his wickedness; nor shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.’

“ As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother,‘ Please come and hear what the word is that comes from the Lord.’

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

So they answered and said before the king,“ That Daniel, who is one of the captives from Judah, does not show due regard for you, O king, or for the decree that you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.”

Then the Spirit took me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to those in captivity. And the vision that I had seen went up from me.So I spoke to those in captivity of all the things the Lord had shown me.

“ At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book.

And the Lord said to Moses,“ Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.

“ And when the children of your people speak to you, saying,‘ Will you not show us what you mean by these?’—

“ Then the Lord said to me,‘ Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly; they have quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molded image.’

Then I came to the captives at Tel Abib, who dwelt by the River Chebar; and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.
