埃及王自謂鑿斯河、足供己用、故予必使埃及荒蕪、俾知我乃耶和華。

Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the Lord.“‘ Because you said,“ The Nile is mine; I made it,”

主耶和華曰、埃及王法老、若河中巨鱷、自謂我鑿江河、足供己用、我必罰爾、

我必降災於爾、及爾江河、使埃及國盡成荒墟、自蜜奪至敘以尼古實接攘之區、人跡獸蹄、不經斯土、民不棲止、凡歷四十年。我必使埃及民人、散處於列國、異邦他邑既變邱墟、埃及通國、及其邑郊、靡地不然、歷四十年。

心驕志肆、終必隕越。

驕泰者敗亡繼之、謙遜者尊榮被之。

驕侈必降卑、撝謙必獲榮。

主耶和華又曰、我必斫其偶像、使不存於挪弗、埃及無君、庶民恐懼、我必使八羅荒蕪、火焚鎖安、降災於挪、滅其居民、汛為埃及國鞏固之邑、我必忿怒攻擊、

列邦諸邑、俱至荒蕪、埃及與助之者亦然。我燃火於埃及、凡助之者、既被殲滅、則知我乃耶和華。

告之曰、萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、我必使我僕、巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒至此、置位張幕於藏石之所、既至、必擊埃及人、或亡於疾病、或戮於鋒刃、或被虜而去。我必使巴比倫王火埃及人上帝之龕、或焚或遷、以埃及之榮歸於一己、如牧者衣衣、後必安然他往。埃及地伯示麥邑之偶像則毀之、埃及人上帝之殿則焚之。
