說主耶和華如此說：埃及王法老啊，我與你這臥在自己河中的大魚為敵。你曾說：這河是我的，是我為自己造的。

所以我必與你並你的江河為敵，使埃及地，從色弗尼塔直到古實境界，全然荒廢淒涼。人的腳、獸的蹄都不經過，四十年之久並無人居住。我必使埃及地在荒涼的國中成為荒涼，使埃及城在荒廢的城中變為荒廢，共有四十年。我必將埃及人分散在列國，四散在列邦。」

驕傲在敗壞以先；狂心在跌倒之前。

敗壞之先，人心驕傲；尊榮以前，必有謙卑。

人的高傲必使他卑下；心裏謙遜的，必得尊榮。

主耶和華如此說：我必毀滅偶像，從挪弗除滅神像；必不再有君王出自埃及地。我要使埃及地的人懼怕。我必使巴忒羅荒涼，在瑣安中使火着起，向挪施行審判。我必將我的忿怒倒在埃及的保障上，就是訓上，並要剪除挪的眾人。我必在埃及中使火着起；訓必大大痛苦；挪必被攻破；挪弗白日見仇敵。亞文和比伯實的少年人必倒在刀下；這些城的人必被擄掠。我在答比匿折斷埃及的諸軛，使她因勢力而有的驕傲在其中止息。那時，日光必退去；至於這城，必有密雲遮蔽，其中的女子必被擄掠。我必這樣向埃及施行審判，他們就知道我是耶和華。」

埃及地在荒涼的國中必成為荒涼；埃及城在荒廢的城中也變為荒廢。我在埃及中使火着起；幫助埃及的，都被滅絕。那時，他們就知道我是耶和華。

對他們說：『萬軍之耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我必召我的僕人巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來。在所藏的石頭上我要安置他的寶座；他必將光華的寶帳支搭在其上。他要來攻擊埃及地，定為死亡的，必致死亡；定為擄掠的，必被擄掠；定為刀殺的，必交刀殺。我要在埃及神的廟中使火着起，巴比倫王要將廟宇焚燒，神像擄去；他要得埃及地，好像牧人披上外衣，從那裏安然而去。他必打碎埃及地伯‧示麥的柱像，用火焚燒埃及神的廟宇。』」
