為了酬報他所賣的力氣、就是他和他軍隊所為我作的，我必將埃及地賜給他：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。

你就看吧，我一定要差遣人去徵取北方的眾族，永恆主發神諭說，我必差遣人去見我的僕人、巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒，引他們來攻擊這地和這地的居民，以及四圍這些列國；我必把他們盡行毁滅歸神，使他們成了令人驚駭、令人嗤笑、永被羞辱的對象。

我打發他來攻擊不拜上帝之國，吩咐他來擊打我所惱怒的人民，來擄掠擄掠物，來掠劫掠劫物，使他們被踐踏、像街上的泥土一樣。但他呢、卻不這樣思想；他心裏並不這樣打算；他心裏倒想毁滅，剪除不少的國。

我永恆主所膏立的古列，我拉他的右手，使列國降服在他面前；列王的腰帶我必鬆開；我必使門戶在他面前敞開，使一切大門不得關閉：我永恆主對古列這麼說；『我必親自領導你，使道路平直；銅門我必打破，鐵閂我必砍斷；我必將暗中的財寶和隱密處的寶藏賜給你，使你知道是我永恆主、以色列之上帝、呼喚你的名召了你。

永恆主對耶戶說：『因你將我所看為對的事辦好，照我的心意待亞哈家，你的子孫到第四代都必坐以色列的王位。
