爾豈得謂殺爾者曰、我為上帝乎、爾在戕爾者之手、則為人、非上帝矣、

爾被殺之時、豈得自謂可匹上帝、爾既見殺、則屬凡民、非為上帝明矣。

爾於殺爾之人前、尚可言我為神乎、爾於戮爾者手中、顯為人、並非神、

Will you then say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who kill you? You will be but a mortal, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you.

Then will you say,‘ I am a god’? Will you say that to those who kill you? You will be only a human being to those who kill you. You will not be a god to them.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you, though you are but a man, and no god, in the hands of those who slay you?

Will you then boast,‘ I am a god!’ to those who kill you? To them you will be no god but merely a man!

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who slay you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?

“ Will you still say before him who slays you,‘ I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, In the hand of him who slays you.

Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou art man, and not God, in the hand of him that woundeth thee.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I[ am] God? but thou[ shalt be] a man, and no God, in the hand of him that slayeth thee.

「人子啊，你要對推羅的君王說，主耶和華如此說：你心裏高傲，說：『我是神明；我在海中坐諸神之位。』雖然你把你的心比作神明的心，你卻不過是人，並不是神明！

埃及人不過是人，並非上帝，他們的馬不過是血肉，並不是靈。耶和華一伸手，那幫助人的必絆跌，受幫助的也必跌倒，都一同滅亡。

然而，你們要死去，與世人一樣，要仆倒，像任何一位王子一般。」

這話還在王口中的時候，有聲音從天降下，說：「尼布甲尼撒王啊，有話對你說，你的國離開你了。你必被趕出離開世人，與野地的走獸同住，吃草如牛，且要經過七個時期；等你知道至高者在人的國中掌權，要將國賜給誰就賜給誰。」

竟向天上的主自高，差人將他殿中的器皿拿到你面前，你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用這器皿飲酒。你又讚美那不能看、不能聽、無知無識，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石造的神明，沒有將榮耀歸與那手中掌管你氣息，管理你一切行動的上帝。於是從他那裏顯出指頭寫這文字。「所寫的文字是：『彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。』解釋是這樣：彌尼就是上帝數算你國的年日到此完畢。提客勒就是你被秤在天平上，秤出你的虧欠來。毗勒斯就是你的國要分裂，歸給瑪代人和波斯人。」於是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鏈給他戴在頸項上，又傳令使他在國中位列第三。當夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被殺。

民眾一直喊着：「這是神明的聲音，不是人的聲音。」希律不歸榮耀給上帝，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。
