爾被殺之時、豈得自謂可匹上帝、爾既見殺、則屬凡民、非為上帝明矣。

爾於殺爾之人前、尚可言我為神乎、爾於戮爾者手中、顯為人、並非神、

Will you then say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who kill you? You will be but a mortal, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you.

Then will you say,‘ I am a god’? Will you say that to those who kill you? You will be only a human being to those who kill you. You will not be a god to them.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you, though you are but a man, and no god, in the hands of those who slay you?

Will you then boast,‘ I am a god!’ to those who kill you? To them you will be no god but merely a man!

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who slay you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?

“ Will you still say before him who slays you,‘ I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, In the hand of him who slays you.

Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou art man, and not God, in the hand of him that woundeth thee.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

“人子啊！你要對推羅的君王說：‘主耶和華這樣說：因為你心裡高傲，說：我是神；我在海的中心、坐在神的寶座上。其實你不過是人，並不是神，你心裡卻自以為是神。

埃及人是人，並不是神；他們的馬匹是血肉，並不是靈；耶和華一伸手，那幫助人的就絆倒，那受幫助的也必仆倒，並且一同滅亡。

然而，你們要像世人一樣死亡，像世上任何一位領袖一樣倒斃。”

這話在王的口中還沒有說完，就有聲音從天上傳下來，說：“尼布甲尼撒王啊！有話對你說：你的王權被褫奪了。你必被趕逐，離開人群，和野地的走獸同住；你必像牛一樣吃草，要經過七年的時期；等到你承認至高者在世人的國中掌權，他喜歡把國賜給誰，就賜給誰。”

竟高抬自己，敵對天上的主，使人把他殿中的器皿拿到你面前來，你和你的大臣、妻妾、妃嬪用這些器皿喝酒；你又讚美那些不能看見、不能聽見、甚麼都不能知道，用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所做的神，卻沒有把榮耀歸給那手中有你的氣息，和那掌管你一切命途的神。因此，有手從神那裡伸出來，寫了這文字。“所寫的文字是：‘彌尼，彌尼，提客勒，烏法珥新。’這文字的意思是這樣：‘彌尼’就是神已數算了你國度的年日，使國終止；‘提客勒’就是你被稱在天平上，顯出你的缺欠；‘毘勒斯’（“毘勒斯”即“烏法珥新”的單數式）就是你的國要分裂，歸給瑪代人和波斯人。”於是伯沙撒下令，人就把紫袍給但以理穿上，把金鍊戴在他的頸上，又宣告他在國中掌權，位列第三。當夜，迦勒底人的王伯沙撒被殺。

群眾大聲說：“這是神的聲音，不是人的聲音！”他不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。
