爾被殺之時、豈得自謂可匹上帝、爾既見殺、則屬凡民、非為上帝明矣。

爾於殺爾之人前、尚可言我為神乎、爾於戮爾者手中、顯為人、並非神、

Will you then say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who kill you? You will be but a mortal, not a god, in the hands of those who slay you.

Then will you say,‘ I am a god’? Will you say that to those who kill you? You will be only a human being to those who kill you. You will not be a god to them.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you, though you are but a man, and no god, in the hands of those who slay you?

Will you then boast,‘ I am a god!’ to those who kill you? To them you will be no god but merely a man!

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” in the presence of those who slay you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

Will you still say,“ I am a god,” In the presence of one who kills you, Though you are a mortal and not God, In the hands of those who wound you?

“ Will you still say before him who slays you,‘ I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, In the hand of him who slays you.

Wilt thou yet say before him that slayeth thee, I am God? but thou art man, and not God, in the hand of him that woundeth thee.

Will you still say,‘ I am a god,’ in the presence of those who kill you? Yet you will be only a man, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.

“人子啊，你去告诉泰尔王，主耶和华这样说，“‘你心里高傲，说，我是神，我坐在海中神的宝座上。你虽然自以为像神，但事实上你不是神，不过是人。

埃及人不过是人，并非上帝；埃及的战马是血肉之躯，并非神灵。耶和华一伸手，那些帮凶必踉跄，受帮助的必跌倒，他们必一同灭亡。

但你们要跟世人一样死去，像人间的王侯一样灭亡。”

话未说完，天上就有声音说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，你听着，你已失去王权。你必从人群中被赶走，与野兽同住，像牛一样吃草，达七年之久，直到你知道至高者主宰世上万国，祂要把国赐给谁就赐给谁。”

竟在天上的主面前自大，命人拿来祂殿里的器皿，供你和大臣、王后、妃嫔用来饮酒，并颂赞不能看、不能听、一无所知、用金、银、铜、铁、木、石所造的神明，却不尊崇赐你生命气息、掌管你一举一动的上帝。“因此，上帝使指头出现，写下这些字，就是‘弥尼，弥尼，提客勒，乌法珥新’。这些字的意思是这样，弥尼——指上帝已经数算你国度的年日，使之到此为止；提客勒——指你已经被放在秤上称了，发现分量不够；乌法珥新——指你的国要分裂，归给玛代人和波斯人。”于是，伯沙撒下令给但以理穿上紫袍，戴上金项链，又宣告他在国中位居第三。当夜，迦勒底王伯沙撒被杀。

致词完毕，众人齐声高呼：“这是神明在说话，不是凡人在说话！”希律没有把荣耀归给上帝，主的天使立刻惩罚他，他当场被虫子咬死了。
