And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast[ it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be[ a place] to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the LORD have spoken[ it], saith the Lord GOD.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,[ and] consider thee,[ saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;[ That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof;[ that] opened not the house of his prisoners?All the kings of the nations,[ even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch,[ and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

All the inhabitants of the isles shall be astonished at thee, and their kings shall be sore afraid, they shall be troubled in[ their] countenance.The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never[ shalt be] any more.
