Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.

You thought you were so handsome that it made your heart proud. You thought you were so glorious that it spoiled your wisdom. So I threw you down to the earth. I made an example out of you in front of kings.

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

Your heart became proud because of your beauty; For the sake of your splendor you corrupted your wisdom. So I threw you down to the ground; I made you a spectacle before kings.

Your heart was haughty because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I threw you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you.

『人子啊，你要對推羅的人君說：主永恆主這麼說：『因你心裏高傲，說：「我乃是神；我在海中心，坐神的寶座」；其實你不過是人，並不是神，儘管你居心、自以為有神的心機。——

『故此永恆主這麼說：其樹身既高聳，其樹梢既挺立於雲霄間，其心既以其高大而驕傲，

靠着你作生意的大智慧你增大了你的資財，你竟因你的資財而心裏高傲！——就因這樣，

因為凡自高的必被降卑；自己謙卑的必被升高。』

地下的陰間也因你而震動，來迎接你的臨到；又因你而驚動了地上一切首領的陰魂，使凡曾做列國君王的都離了座位而起立。他們都必應時對你說：「你也變為衰弱、像我們一樣啊！你也跟我們相似啊！」你的威風，你琴瑟的聲音、都被送下陰間了；你下面鋪的是蛆蟲，上面蓋的是蟲子。

這樣、我就使淫蕩從這境內止息，好使一切婦人都受警告不敢效法你們的淫蕩而行。

因為經上記着說：『我要除滅智慧人的智慧，廢棄聰明人的聰明。』智慧人在哪裏？經學士在哪裏？今世的辯士在哪裏？上帝豈不是叫世界上的智慧變成了愚拙麼？本着上帝的智慧、世人既沒有憑着智慧認識上帝，上帝就樂意藉着宣傳之話的愚拙、來救信的人。

智慧人必狼狽，必驚慌，必被捉住；看哪，永恆主的話他們竟棄絕了，他們心裏還有甚麼智慧呢？

啊，你實在把他們安在滑地，使他們掉在完全荒廢的地步。

他們自稱為有智慧，反而成了愚拙，用那能敗壞的人類、飛鳥、走獸、昆蟲之像的樣式、去代換那不能朽壞的上帝之榮耀。所以在他們心裏的私慾中、上帝就把他們放給污穢、去彼此侮辱自己的身體。這種人用了假去替換上帝之真，敬拜事奉了被創造之物，而不敬奉創造之主：就是應當受祝頌、萬世無窮的。阿們。

永恆主使困苦人恢復精神，使惡人降低至地。

你的名聲因你的美麗而傳出在列國中，因為由於我加在你身上的榮美、你的美麗乃十全十美：這是主永恆主發神諭說的。『但是你倚靠你的美麗，竟憑着你的名聲而行淫；你向任何過路人傾瀉出你的淫亂媚態，而那便成了屬他的。

先狂傲、然後遭破毁；先有高傲之氣、然後就跌倒。

傲慢來，恥辱也來；謙遜人卻有智慧在心。

瑣安的首領極其愚昧，法老大有智慧的謀士所設的乃是畜類無知的計謀。你們怎敢對法老說：『我是智慧人的兒子，我是古時君王的子孫』呢？那麼你的智慧人在哪裏呢？萬軍之永恆主對責罰埃及所定的旨意、他們儘可以告訴你，儘可以播知出來呀。瑣安的首領很愚昧，挪弗的首領受欺哄；埃及族派的中堅人物使埃及人走迷了路。

不，他還賜更大的恩呢；故此經上說：『上帝敵擋狂傲的人，賜恩給謙卑的人』。

他當着他們面前向你掄刀時，便要使許多外族之民因你而驚駭，他們的君王必因你而大為震驚；當你仆倒的日子，他們各人都必為自己的性命而息息發顫。

你要發散你滿溢的怒氣，見一切驕傲的人，使他降卑；見一切驕傲的人，使他低微；把惡人踐踏於他們的本處；

那麼你就看吧，我必導引外族人、列國中的強橫人、來攻擊你；他們拔刀來砍壞你用智慧得來的美麗，污辱你的光華。

他們必用火燒你的房屋，必在許多婦人眼前向你施判罰；我必使你止息行淫，也必使你不再把行淫資送給人。
