Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.

You thought you were so handsome that it made your heart proud. You thought you were so glorious that it spoiled your wisdom. So I threw you down to the earth. I made an example out of you in front of kings.

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

“人子啊！你要对推罗的君王说：‘主耶和华这样说：因为你心里高傲，说：我是神；我在海的中心、坐在神的宝座上。其实你不过是人，并不是神，你心里却自以为是神。

“‘因此，主耶和华这样说：因为它树身高大，树顶在茂密的枝叶之上，又因它高大而心骄气傲，

你靠着自己在贸易上的大智慧，增添你的财富，你又因自己的财富心里高傲。

因为凡高抬自己的，必要降卑；自己谦卑的，必要升高。”

地下的阴间因你震动，并迎接你的来临；又因你而唤醒了所有曾在地上作过领袖的阴魂；又使所有曾在列国中作君王的，都离位站起来。他们都必答话，对你说：‘你也变为衰弱，像我们一样吗？你也与我们相似吗？’你的威势和你的琴瑟音乐，都被带下阴间了；你下面铺的是虫，上面盖的是蛆。

这样，我必使淫荡从这地止息，好叫所有的妇人都受到警戒，不敢照着你们的淫荡而行。

因为经上记着说：“我要灭绝智慧人的智慧，废弃聪明人的聪明。”智慧人在哪里？经学家在哪里？今世的辩士在哪里？神不是使属世的智慧变成了愚笨吗？因为在神的智慧里，世人凭自己的智慧，既然不能认识神，神就乐意藉着所传的愚笨的道理，去拯救那些信的人。

智慧人必蒙羞，惊惶失措。看哪！他们弃绝了耶和华的话，他们还有什么智慧呢？

你实在把他们安放在滑地，使他们倒下、灭亡。

他们自以为是聪明的，却成了愚蠢的。他们用必朽坏的人、飞禽、走兽和昆虫的形象，取代了永不朽坏的神的荣耀。因此，神就任凭他们顺着心中的私欲去作污秽的事，以致羞辱自己的身体。他们用虚谎取代了神的真理，敬拜事奉受造之物，却不敬拜事奉造物的主。他是永远可称颂的，阿们。

耶和华扶持谦卑的人，却把恶人丢弃在地。

你的名声因你的美丽传遍列国，你全然美丽，是因为我加在你身上的荣美。这是主耶和华的宣告。“‘可是你倚仗你的美丽，又凭着你的名声去行淫；你向每一个过路的人纵情淫乱（《马索拉文本》在本节最后有“而那便成了属他的”；现参照《七十士译本》和其他古译本的较短读文翻译）。

在灭亡以先，必有骄傲；在跌倒以前，心中高傲。

傲慢来，羞辱也来；谦卑的人却有智慧。

琐安的领袖非常愚昧，法老那些最有智慧的谋士所筹算的，都成为愚昧。你们怎能对法老说：“我是智慧人的儿子，是古代君王的后裔”呢？你的智慧人在哪里呢？万军之耶和华向埃及所定的旨意是怎样的？就让他们告诉你，使你知道吧！琐安的领袖都变为愚昧，挪弗的领袖都受了欺骗；那些在埃及支派中作房角石的，使埃及人走错了路。

但神所赐的恩更大；所以圣经上说：“神对抗骄傲的人，赐恩给谦卑的人。”

我在他们面前向你挥动刀剑的时候，他们必因你惊骇，他们的君王也必因你非常恐慌；在你倾覆的日子，他们各人都必为自己的性命时刻战兢。

要倒尽你忿激的怒气，观看所有骄傲的人，使他们降卑。观看所有骄傲的人，把他制伏，把恶人践踏在他们的地方，

所以我要使外族人，就是列国中最强横的人，来攻击你；他们要拔出刀来，攻击你用智慧得来的美物，玷污你的光彩。

他们也要用火烧你的房屋，在许多妇人面前向你施行审判。我必止住你的淫行，也必使你不再把诱人行淫的礼物送给人。
