爾因美麗、中心驕泰、爾之榮光、敗爾智慧、我必仆爾於地、置爾於列王前、為其目睹、

爾因美麗、中心驕泰、亦因光彩、失其智慧、故我必傾圮爾、使列王目睹。

因爾美麗、中心驕傲、妄用智慧以自榮、故我必使爾於列王前、傾仆於地、為眾目所睹、

Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings.

You thought you were so handsome that it made your heart proud. You thought you were so glorious that it spoiled your wisdom. So I threw you down to the earth. I made an example out of you in front of kings.

Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I exposed you before kings, to feast their eyes on you.

Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. Your wisdom was corrupted by your love of splendor. So I threw you to the ground and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.

「人子啊，你去告訴泰爾王，主耶和華這樣說，『你心裡高傲，說，我是神，我坐在海中神的寶座上。你雖然自以為像神，但事實上你不是神，不過是人。

「因此，主耶和華說，『因為它樹幹高大，樹梢高聳入雲，心高氣傲，

你靠高超的經商本領使財富大增，因而變得心高氣傲。

因為自高的人必遭貶抑，謙卑的人必得尊榮。」

巴比倫王啊，你下到陰間，陰間興奮地迎接你，那些在世上做過君王和首領的陰魂都從座位上站起來迎接你，對你說，『你如今也跟我們一樣軟弱無能。』你的榮耀和琴聲一同落入陰間，蟲成了你的床鋪，蛆成了你的被子。

這樣，我便制止了這地方的淫亂，所有的婦女都引以為戒，不敢效法她們。

正如聖經上說：「我要摧毀智者的智慧，廢棄明哲的聰明。」這個世代所謂的智者、學者、雄辯家在哪裡？上帝豈不是把這世上的智慧都變成愚昧了嗎？上帝運用自己的智慧不讓世人憑自己的智慧去認識祂，祂樂意採用世人看為愚昧的道理去拯救那些相信的人，這就是上帝的智慧。

智者必蒙羞辱，受驚嚇，被捉拿。看啊，他們既棄掉耶和華的話，哪裡還有智慧可言呢？

你把他們放在容易滑倒的地方，使他們落入毀滅中。

他們自以為聰明，其實愚不可及，以必朽的人、飛禽、走獸和爬蟲的形像來取代永恆上帝的榮耀。因此，上帝任憑他們隨從內心的情慾行污穢的事，玷污彼此的身體。他們把上帝的真理當作謊言，祭拜、供奉受造之物，卻不敬拜、事奉造物主。主是永遠值得稱頌的。阿們！

耶和華扶持謙卑人，毀滅邪惡人。

你的美貌名揚四方，因為我給你的華貴使你美貌無比。這是主耶和華說的。「『你卻仗著自己的美貌和名聲縱情淫亂，與所有過路的人苟合。

驕橫是淪亡的前奏，狂傲是敗落的預兆。

傲慢帶來羞辱，謙卑者有智慧。

埃及王聰明的謀士——瑣安的首領們變得愚不可及。他們怎敢在埃及王面前自稱是古聖先賢的子孫呢？埃及王啊，你的智者在哪裡呢？讓他們把萬軍之耶和華對付埃及的計劃告訴你吧！瑣安的首領愚昧，挪弗的首領糊塗。他們是埃及的房角石，卻把埃及人引入歧途。

但上帝賜給我們更大的恩典，所以聖經上說：「上帝阻擋驕傲的人，恩待謙卑的人。」

我在他們面前揮刀攻擊你的時候，各國的人都必因你而驚駭，他們的君王必膽戰心驚。在你傾覆那天，他們都必時刻為自己的性命戰戰兢兢。』

發洩你滿腔的怒火，鑒察驕傲者，貶抑他；鑒察驕傲者，制伏他，將惡人原地踐踏；

我要使列國中最殘暴的外族人來攻打你，拔刀毀壞你憑智慧得來的美物，玷污你的榮美，

燒毀你的房屋，在眾婦女面前審判你。我要阻止你的淫亂行為，使你不再倒貼錢給情人。
