By the abundance of your commerce, your insides were filled with violence, and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you as profane out of God’s mountain. I have destroyed you, covering cherub, from the middle of the stones of fire.

爾因貿易之盛、遂行強暴、而干罪戾、我則視爾為污、逐爾出上帝之山、展翼之基路伯乎、我滅爾於光輝寶玉之間、

因貿易繁盛、遂至強暴、陷於罪戾、爾既污衊、我必逐爾出我聖岡、不許爾復為𠼻𡀔［口氷］、施其庇護、為燦爛之玉、輝光四照、

爾貿易繁盛、遂充以強暴、因爾得罪、我視爾若被玷污者、我必逐爾出我聖山、覆庇之基路伯歟、我必除滅爾於發火光之寶石中、

Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones.

You traded with many nations. You harmed people everywhere. And you sinned. So I sent you away from my mountain in shame. Guardian angel, I drove you away from among the gleaming jewels.

For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals, which made them afraid; because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.

But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. They traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, embroidered work, fine linen, coral, and rubies.“‘“ Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded wheat of Minnith, confections, honey, oil, and balm for your merchandise.“‘“ Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.“‘“ Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus were among your merchandise.“‘“ Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.“‘“ Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, rams, and goats. In these, they were your merchants.“‘“ The traders of Sheba and Raamah were your traders. They traded for your wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.“‘“ Haran, Canneh, and Eden, the traders of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were your traders.These were your traders in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.“‘“ The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise. You were replenished and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is among you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.At the sound of the cry of your pilots, the pasture lands will shake.All who handle the oars, the mariners and all the pilots of the sea, will come down from their ships. They will stand on the land,and will cause their voice to be heard over you, and will cry bitterly. They will cast up dust on their heads. They will wallow in the ashes.They will make themselves bald for you, and clothe themselves with sackcloth. They will weep for you in bitterness of soul, with bitter mourning.In their wailing they will take up a lamentation for you, and lament over you, saying,‘ Who is there like Tyre, like her who is brought to silence in the middle of the sea?’When your wares went out of the seas, you filled many peoples. You enriched the kings of the earth with the multitude of your riches and of your merchandise.In the time that you were broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, your merchandise and all your company fell within you.All the inhabitants of the islands are astonished at you, and their kings are horribly afraid. They are troubled in their face.The merchants among the peoples hiss at you. You have become a terror, and you will be no more.”’”

The earth was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Therefore I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out her inhabitants.You therefore shall keep my statutes and my ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the native- born, nor the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you( for the men of the land that were before you had done all these abominations, and the land became defiled),that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.

It will happen after the end of seventy years that Yahweh will visit Tyre. She will return to her wages, and will play the prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world on the surface of the earth.Her merchandise and her wages will be holiness to Yahweh. It will not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before Yahweh, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

To those who sold the doves, he said,“ Take these things out of here! Don’t make my Father’s house a marketplace!”

They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.

Arise, and depart! For this is not your resting place, because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction.

I will thrust you from your office. You will be pulled down from your station.

He entered into the temple, and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,saying to them,“ It is written,‘ My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a‘ den of robbers’!”
