再过不久，恶人就不存在了；你到他的地方寻找，也找不到。

所有过路的人，都拍掌嘲笑你；他们嗤笑耶路撒冷的居民，并摇头说：“被人称为最完美，为全地所喜悦的，就是这城吗？”

因耶和华的烈怒，巴比伦必没有人居住，完全荒废；每一个住过巴比伦的，都必因这地遭受的一切创伤而惊骇，并且嗤笑它。

这殿必成为废墟（按照《马索拉文本》，“成为废墟”应作“甚高”；现参照《叙利亚译本》翻译），经过的人都必惊讶，取笑说：耶和华为什么向这地和这殿这样作啊？

“人子啊！因为推罗论到耶路撒冷说：‘哈哈！那万族的门已经破坏了，向我打开了；我必得丰满，她却成了荒场！’

“以东必成为令人惊骇的地方；每一个经过那里的，都必因这地所遭受的一切创伤而惊骇，并且嗤笑它。

我必使你成为光滑的磐石；你必成为晒网的地方；你必不再被建造，因为我耶和华已经说了。这是主耶和华的宣告。’
