你的篷是用埃及刺繡的細麻布作的，可做你的旌旗；你的涼棚是用以利沙沿海地帶的藍紫色紫紅色布作的。西頓和亞瓦底的居民給你做盪槳的；洗瑪利的老手技師在你中間、做你的掌舵。迦巴勒的老者和老手技師都在你中間做修補破縫的；一切海上的船隻和水手都在你中間經營交易的事。

人必以你的資財為戰利品，以你的財貨為掠物；他們必翻倒你的牆，拆毁你的娛樂館子，將你的石頭木頭和塵土都拋在水中。

大馬色人因你的製造品很多，因你有很多各種財物，就拿黑本酒和白羊毛來跟你交易，拿烏薩出的酒來換你的貨物；拿鍛鐵、桂皮、菖蒲、來對換你的貨品。

地上的商人也為她哭泣哀慟，因為再沒有人買他們的貨物了：沒有人買他們的金銀寶石、珍珠、細麻布、紫布、絲綢、朱紅布等貨物、各樣香木、各樣象牙器皿、頂貴重木製的、銅鐵白石製的各樣器皿、肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、細麵、麥子、牲口、羊、馬、貨車、跟奴僕、就是人口——等貨色。『你心所貪愛的果子已離開了你，你的一切珍饈肥甘、華麗物件、都被毁滅、離開了你，人決不能再見得着了！』這些物件的商人、從這城得財富的、因怕她的苦痛、都必在遠處站着，哭泣哀慟說：『有禍啊！有禍啊！那大城！那披着細麻、紫袍和朱紅袍、用金子、寶石、珍珠、為妝飾的！一時之間這麼大的財富已變為荒涼了！』每一個船長、每一個航行往別處去的和水手們、以及凡作海業的、都在遠處站着，看見她被焚燒的煙就喊着說：『哪一個城能比得過那大城呢？』他們把塵土撒在頭上，哭泣哀慟喊着說：『有禍啊！有禍啊！那大城！那城裏頭凡有船在海中的、由她的珍寶而得財富的、有禍啊！一時之間她已變為荒涼了！天哪，聖眾使徒和神言人哪，因那城而歡躍吧！因為上帝已為你們伸雪而判罰她了。』有一位大有力量的天使舉起一塊石頭來、像大磨石、丟在海裏、說：『巴比倫大城也必這樣砰磅一下被丟下，決不能再看到了！彈絃琴、作樂、吹簫笛、吹號筒者、的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；各手工業各手藝人在你中間決不能再看到了；石磨的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；燈光決不能再照耀於你中間了；新郎新娘的聲音在你中間決不能再聽到了；因為你的商人曾經是地上的大人物；因為列國都曾在你的邪術中受了迷惑。』在這裏並且見有神言人和聖徒們的血、以及地上一切被屠殺之人的血。

這些商人用十全十美的衣料、藍紫色刺繡的袍子、彩色奪目的地毯，拿繩子綁得牢靠，就用這些東西來和你作生意。

示巴和拉瑪作生意的人都和你作生意；他們拿各種上好的香料、各樣寶石、和黃金、來換你的貨物。
