人子歟、推羅人論耶路撒冷曰、嘻嘻、眾民之門已破、皆歸於我、彼既荒涼、我必恢廓、

人子、昔耶路撒冷遭難之日、推羅之人譏之、曰、吁哉、民出入之所、其邑已破、民必歸余、皆屬我矣。

人子、推羅見耶路撒冷遭難、則曰吁哉、列民出入之門已破、今後一切必歸我、彼既荒蕪、我必豐滿、

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said of Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gate to the nations is broken, and its doors have swung open to me; now that she lies in ruins I will prosper,’

“ Son of man, Tyre laughed because of what happened to Jerusalem. The people of Tyre said,‘ Jerusalem is the gateway to the nations. But the gate is broken. Its doors have swung open to us. Jerusalem has been destroyed. So now we will succeed.’ ”

“ Son of man, because Tyre said concerning Jerusalem,‘ Aha, the gate of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying,‘ Ha! She who was the gateway to the rich trade routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir! Because she has been made desolate, I will become wealthy!’

“ Son of man, because Tyre said about Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway to the peoples is shattered. She has been turned over to me. I will be filled now that she lies in ruins,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said in regard to Jerusalem,‘ Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has opened to me. I shall be filled, now that she is laid waste,’

“ Son of man, because Tyre has said against Jerusalem,‘ Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’

From the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.Be still, you inhabitants of the coast, you whom the merchants of Sidon that pass over the sea, have replenished.On great waters, the seed of the Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue. She was the market of nations.Be ashamed, Sidon; for the sea has spoken, the stronghold of the sea, saying,“ I have not travailed, nor given birth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.”When the report comes to Egypt, they will be in anguish at the report of Tyre.Pass over to Tarshish! Wail, you inhabitants of the coast!Is this your joyous city, whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her far away to travel?Who has planned this against Tyre, the giver of crowns, whose merchants are princes, whose traders are the honorable of the earth?Yahweh of Armies has planned it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.Pass through your land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish. There is no restraint any more.He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Yahweh has ordered the destruction of Canaan’s strongholds.He said,“ You shall rejoice no more, you oppressed virgin daughter of Sidon. Arise, pass over to Kittim. Even there you will have no rest.”Behold, the land of the Chaldeans. This people didn’t exist. The Assyrians founded it for those who dwell in the wilderness. They set up their towers. They overthrew its palaces. They made it a ruin.Howl, you ships of Tarshish, for your stronghold is laid waste!It will come to pass in that day that Tyre will be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. After the end of seventy years it will be to Tyre like in the song of the prostitute.Take a harp; go about the city, you prostitute that has been forgotten. Make sweet melody. Sing many songs, that you may be remembered.It will happen after the end of seventy years that Yahweh will visit Tyre. She will return to her wages, and will play the prostitute with all the kingdoms of the world on the surface of the earth.Her merchandise and her wages will be holiness to Yahweh. It will not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise will be for those who dwell before Yahweh, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.

The Lord Yahweh says:‘ Because the enemy has said against you,“ Aha!” and,“ The ancient high places are ours in possession!”’

“ Yes, and what are you to me, Tyre, and Sidon, and all the regions of Philistia? Will you repay me? And if you repay me, I will swiftly and speedily return your repayment on your own head.

and all the kings of Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;

to the children of the east, to go against the children of Ammon; and I will give them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

because of the day that comes to destroy all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Sidon every helper who remains; for Yahweh will destroy the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.

Then send them to the king of Edom, to the king of Moab, to the king of the children of Ammon, to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers who come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah.

Yahweh’s word came again to me, saying,“ You, son of man, take up a lamentation over Tyre;and tell Tyre,‘ You who dwell at the entry of the sea, who are the merchant of the peoples to many islands, the Lord Yahweh says:“ You, Tyre, have said,‘ I am perfect in beauty.’Your borders are in the heart of the seas. Your builders have perfected your beauty.They have made all your planks of cypress trees from Senir. They have taken a cedar from Lebanon to make a mast for you.They have made your oars of the oaks of Bashan. They have made your benches of ivory inlaid in cypress wood from the islands of Kittim.Your sail was of fine linen with embroidered work from Egypt, that it might be to you for a banner. Blue and purple from the islands of Elishah was your awning.The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were your rowers. Your wise men, Tyre, were in you. They were your pilots.The old men of Gebal and its wise men were your repairers of ship seams in you. All the ships of the sea with their mariners were in you to deal in your merchandise.“‘“ Persia, Lud, and Put were in your army, your men of war. They hung the shield and helmet in you. They showed your beauty.The men of Arvad with your army were on your walls all around, and valiant men were in your towers. They hung their shields on your walls all around. They have perfected your beauty.“‘“ Tarshish was your merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches. They traded for your wares with silver, iron, tin, and lead.“‘“ Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your traders. They traded the persons of men and vessels of bronze for your merchandise.“‘“ They of the house of Togarmah traded for your wares with horses, war horses, and mules.“‘“ The men of Dedan traded with you. Many islands were the market of your hand. They brought you horns of ivory and ebony in exchange.“‘“ Syria was your merchant by reason of the multitude of your handiworks. They traded for your wares with emeralds, purple, embroidered work, fine linen, coral, and rubies.“‘“ Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded wheat of Minnith, confections, honey, oil, and balm for your merchandise.“‘“ Damascus was your merchant for the multitude of your handiworks, by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.“‘“ Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for your wares: bright iron, cassia, and calamus were among your merchandise.“‘“ Dedan was your trafficker in precious cloths for riding.“‘“ Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of your hand; in lambs, rams, and goats. In these, they were your merchants.“‘“ The traders of Sheba and Raamah were your traders. They traded for your wares with the chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.“‘“ Haran, Canneh, and Eden, the traders of Sheba, Asshur and Chilmad, were your traders.These were your traders in choice wares, in wrappings of blue and embroidered work, and in chests of rich clothing, bound with cords and made of cedar, among your merchandise.“‘“ The ships of Tarshish were your caravans for your merchandise. You were replenished and made very glorious in the heart of the seas.Your rowers have brought you into great waters. The east wind has broken you in the heart of the seas.Your riches, your wares, your merchandise, your mariners, your pilots, your repairers of ship seams, the dealers in your merchandise, and all your men of war, who are in you, with all your company which is among you, will fall into the heart of the seas in the day of your ruin.At the sound of the cry of your pilots, the pasture lands will shake.

Let them be turned because of their shame who say,“ Aha! Aha!”

and Hamath, also, which borders on it; Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise.Tyre built herself a stronghold, and heaped up silver like the dust, and fine gold like the mire of the streets.Behold, the Lord will dispossess her, and he will strike her power in the sea; and she will be devoured with fire.

Let them be desolate by reason of their shame that tell me,“ Aha! Aha!”

Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, with cedar trees, carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;

For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads.They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones.“ Come,” they say,“ let’s destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

Yahweh says:“ For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four, I will not turn away its punishment; because they delivered up the whole community to Edom, and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;but I will send a fire on the wall of Tyre, and it will devour its palaces.”

Yes, they opened their mouth wide against me. They said,“ Aha! Aha! Our eye has seen it!”

The border turned to Ramah, to the fortified city of Tyre; and the border turned to Hosah. It ended at the sea by the region of Achzib;

Of the children of Ammon. Yahweh says:“ Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?

Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.When this sound was heard, the multitude came together and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another,“ Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

For the Lord Yahweh says:“ Because you have clapped your hands, stamped with the feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt of your soul against the land of Israel;

“ Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.Tell the children of Ammon,‘ Hear the word of the Lord Yahweh! The Lord Yahweh says,“ Because you said,‘ Aha!’ against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:

How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a slave!
